They upsample so you can hear what isn't there!

Trying to decide which volume to pick up first in the range of Vol. 9-13. I have the complete hot 5 and & from Sony and a nice collection of stuff with the All-Stars. Looking for stuff with his Orchestra or other formations. Any suggestions?

Tom Gruzo - "Say When" Bought it because its on the 9 Winds label. Definitely a departure from the standard 9 Winds album. Straight ahead and enjoyable album.

I got a cdr from them before. I'm sure it's difficult being an indie music store with a niche market. Every time I've asked if something was in stock for their site it never is. That's frustrating. Between that and another instance with them I've steered clear. I've also tried to be removed from the newsletter to no avail. They do give so nice info on new releases so I don't mind too much.

Has anyone heard the Charles Tolliver Big Band Mosaic selects? I have a copy of Impact and the music is awesome but quality is awful.

Fingerprints is a nice shop, kind of on the pricey side. If your looking to dig through vinyl Bagatelle's around the corner is better.

Update for anyone who was interested in this, got my copy today. 30 minutes of solo Vinny is always a good thing. Wish this was a bit longer but that is just being greedy. Vinny lives up to his high standards. Have already transferred it so I can soak it up via iPod at work tomorrow.

Is the "hifi" $9.99. I was looking into it yesterday and it looked to still be $19.99

Bobby Bradford Quartet/Vinny Golia Sextet, which turned into a Septet at the Blue Whale. Amazing show and well worth the lack of sleep it produced!!! If only someone had taken their Tascam recorder to capture the music for repeated listening....

I've had a few days to spin both Ghetto Music and Lift Every Voice. Ghetto Music sounds great, I only have a needle drop cd-r to compare it to but this remaster sounds great to me. Lift Every Voice is fantastic!! I don't know how I've gone so long without hearing this! Not sure these remasters are worth replacing anything already purchased though. Will have to further investigate. I will use these SHM-CD's to fill missing holes over RVG's though. Already purchased a copy of Frank Foster - Manhattan Fever (mainly because it was $5) and looking into a few other titles I don't own.
