BillF
Second only to Raging Bull. Not much sign of The Man Walking on Eggshells in those clips.
Teasing the Korean
I'm psyched that it is a comedy!
Scott Dolan
Ummm... So if it mostly focuses on late period Miles why was the majority of the sound track Kind Of Blue? Edited February 5, 2016 by Scott Dolan

Scott Dolan
The later sequences had KOB playing as well. I just wonder why Cheadle didn't go with that period.
BillF
In this interview which Dmitry posted Cheadle says he doesn't go for chronology and is happy to have Kinda Blue in 1969, etc, etc. Phew! https://youtu.be/bTKFotWCPaE

Yeah, I can't say I was impressed by the trailer. Looks like a buddy action movie. Fuck that.
JSngry
Kind Of Blue music and On The Corner characters. The Great Reconciliation begins, perhaps quite accidentally, perhaps not.
Joe
This film is purportedly set during Mile's mid-70s "retirement," right?

Fuck that. Was it not ever thus? Movies about jazz have nearly always been made for mass audiences and not for jazz fans. I was reminded of this recently when I tried - unsuccessfully - to watch for a second time the recent jazz drumming saga, Whiplash.

Well received by cinema audiences generally. The problem seems to be if you know anything about drumming, jazz, music - things like that. A Lark Ascending
Is there a scene where he plays to a bunch of posh folks who initially look outraged and then start to tap their feet? Jazz aficionados are going to be able to lunch out for weeks on how unimpressed they were with this new film. I feel a Ken Burns situation a'comin' on. Milestones
Cheadle seems to have Miles' voice down pretty well.
Teasing the Korean
I hope there is a car chase scene with an explosion. Wouldn't that be AWESOME?
GregK
I'm not that familiar with Miles' life story. Was he really punching and shooting that often?

ArtSalt
The trailer left me pleasantly surprised. From the initial press releases when it was in development I expected the worse, everything sounded wrong: Miles in his 70s retirement, some kind of gangster movie as we watch the primitive trying to score drugs. Thankfully, it appears to be a wider scope than this.
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez
i might see it in the theatre, i guess- i mean im not gonna 'get' any more out of it at the theatre than if i watched it next yr on nextflix or whatever...........i mean its not like it was shot in cinemascope and its only showing for 7 days, every 5 years. i might wait till netflix
