Track 3 is Carla Bley, Steve Swallow and Andy Sheppard, “Beautiful Telephones II” -
Last time I saw him was the Chicago fest in 2013.
-
Only saw him ca. 1989 with his Special Edition group that had Osby/Gary Thomas/Mick Goodrick/Lonnie Plaxico. Not fond of the other players in that group, but DeJohnette himself was splendid.
-
I saw him twice - once with Gateway, one w/the Jarrett standards trio.
-
Sometimes assault is warranted.
-
Muse Master Edition Series LP reissue. Very nicely done.

Yeah, unlikely and incorrect. An interesting speculation, though, and not one that I would have made. But I can see that, yeah. The singer is nowhere near famous, and again, it is not her album. -
Andrew Hill: Andrew!!!, Compulsion!!!!!, Grass Roots and Smoke Stack.

Based on the foregoing posts, I'll venture that my first thought for the #5 vocalist was Rickie Lee Jones. It does kinda sound like her IMO (I was a fan of her first couple of albums, but then lost track). I dismissed that as unlikely and resolved to listen further. Busy weekend so haven't gotten around to it yet. -

Nice intro. A real tone setter 2. I have no guesses. Never heard this before. Symphonic af with layers. I dig it 3 has some really good playing. transfixing at times. yet again no idea who this is. 4 is a mood. Guessing that's an oboe? with a flute and harp? seems like this could accompany a modern dance performance. 5 - this singer is confident and that works. She sounds a little like if Sheryl Crow sang jazz. 6 - love what's going on here. Guitarist has a great solo. Chatter intro and outro are cool too. 7 the rhythm section is killer. strong bass line lays down a great groove. the whole band really has it together too. I really like this one. 8 I really love great percussion in jazz and this song is a perfect example of how it elevates everything going on. perfect. no idea what's being played near that 9:30 mark. is a mic distorting the drum? Sounds cool regardless. 9 This reminds me of a Chico Hamilton track. Not 100% it's him but it's a great track either way. 10 strong playing again and another enjoyable song. can't make any guesses unfortunately. Really enjoyed this BFT. Thanks! -

#6 is track 6 from this but it seems to be an alternate take and I can't find an issue that has alternates so I am a tad confused. As for the rest, I have no guesses on #10 and for the remainder I'll follow a lesson from Mom about not saying anything at all if you can't say anything nice. -

Mark Masters Ensemble: Our Métier. Capri Records 74150-2. [US 2018] Cover painting by Richard Gerstl 'Porträt der Familie Schönberg/Portrait of the Schoenberg family, 1907! https://www.mumok.at/onlinesammlung/detail/portraet-der-familie-schoenberg-2763 Inspired by jazzbo's yesterday's post, I'm reproducing this cover here again. The painting on the cover is incomplete; the person on the left has been cut off—due to the layout or intentionally? The original depicts Arnold Schoenberg with his wife Mathilde and two children, painted by Richard Gerstl in 1907! Mathilde Schoenberg and Richard Gerstl fell in love, Arnold Schoenberg found it out, but his wife returned to him. Richard Gerstl subsequently died by suicide in 1908. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Gerstl
