  2. I saw that band in Montreal in the later sixties but don't remember who the piano player was.
  3. Today
  4. It's going to be a Godard weekend. I'll be watching Breathless a bit later tonight (at home, however) and then Contempt (Le Mepris) tomorrow in a theatre.
  5. RIP. I saw them (the Dead) a few times back in the day, including one show after Brent passed away and Bruce Hornsby was filling in! I didn't see any of the shows after Garcia had died, however.
  6. R.I.P. , I'm a fan of the ultra-psychedelic stuff like "Dark Star" and "The Other One", and of "Truckin'", whose chorus has become sort of a mantra for me.
  7. Almost three years behind, but just now listened to this. šŸ‘‰šŸ”„šŸ‘ˆ
  8. A cursory internet search tells me that this one was first: Then this one: And a third cover! Singin' The Blues
  9. Introducing Memphis Willie B. BAM. Hard Working Man Blues And this album, containing one of the funkiest saxophone solos EVER. (On "Money's Gettin' Cheaper.") Thank you, Clifford Scott. Evenin' Blues

  11. The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding
  12. Yesterday
  13. Bob Weir, Grateful Dead Co-Founder, Dead at 78
  14. So do I have May? I requested either April or May back on October 21.
  15. Shockingly good little movie, unexpectedly packs an emotional punch, as well as enjoyable story, some very funny parts, and a soundtrack which should (but won''t) win a grammy as the best pop album of 2025. Carey Mulligan is a fabulous actress, also really struck me with her portrayal of NYT journalist Megan Twohey in 'She Said'. She's been nominated for oscars for best actress three times.
  16. Duke Ellington "Duke: '56/'62 Volume 1, LP 1 Finally have all three volumes (five LPs) of this excellent French CBS series.
  17. How about posting what's finalized so far.
  18. ā€œCalifornia Concert–The Hollywood Albumā€ CTI 2 cd set, disc 2
  19. Ah! That would certainly explain the varying release dates that we've seen. I've got it pre-ordered, whenever it comes out! Thanks for this and all of the other jazz-history work that you've done, James. Anybody wishing to study West Coast jazz now or in the future will need to delve into it.
