  2. Al Cohn plays wonderfully here. The trumpet solos and arrangements are also very good.
  3. Mingus was Bremen 64/75 (Sunnyside 2CD), not Miles (or Monk).
  4. just picked up a nice mono copy of that LP. Strong date.
  5. I was going by what the note on the inner sleeve says. So apparently that's not accurate either? Not sure what happened with this new release, but it's clearly not right--track two starts in mid-performance and only runs for about 1:30 or so, though the listing on the CD gives the same running time as the one you've posted.
  6. It appears this was reissued as A Piece of Jazz History on CD and on streaming sites, which may be easier to access. Original cover is much better, however...
  7. Today
  8. I subscribe to MHZ and recently watched both seasons of The Fallen. Big Sofia Helin fan. I’m now watching a Danish series, The Killing (season 1).
  9. Ben Wendel: Barcode
  10. Yes, phenomenal stuff. Only passing this on because it's a duplicate.
  11. Not really an OP fan, and I prefer his trios with Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis. Hoping for a set with the trio with Ellis someday.
  12. His best group imo. Well maybe I prefer the MPS group with Sam Jones even more.
  13. shout out for the Herman Mosaic Select (Philips years) - I recently picked this up from a massive collection (deceased jazz collector) It was one of the few Selects I didn't buy at the time but I'm stoked I got it - It's superb & highly recommended IMHO
  14. You mean to say you're wondering if some members would be prepared to put their mother-in-law in hock in order to afford this set?
  15. A cool morning, going to be another pretty but cool day. Starting off with the final, 7th disc to this very interesting Mosaic Records cd set. The Complete Woody Herman Decca, Mars And MGM Sessions (1943-1954)
  16. Daredevil is my favorite of the TV series from Marvel, the seasons before "Born Again" were very good, and I think the second season of "Born Again" was excellent in how it mirrored current events in America. . . and ended more optimistically than we are likely to see happen in the near future. the violence is a bit extreme but that is part of the nature of the content, and I like that it is not shied away from. The series is well filmed. I've seen about a half an hour of "Wonder Man" so far. Gues it gets better.
