  1. Past hour
  2. yeah, somebody should do one. No idea who owns the rights to Morgue but the ALM/Kojima material seems to be getting licensed around. Columbia/Denon I'm not sure about, but they presumably still own those masters. Excellent group of LPs.
  3. This would make a nice set. All of these records are going for 300+ euros.... Time for a reissue. Stalks – Steve Lacy Trio (Tokyo, June 7, 1975) Solo at Mandara – Solo performance (Tokyo, June 8, 1975) Distant Voices – Steve Lacy, Yuji Takahashi, Takehisa Kosugi (Tokyo, June 24, 1975) Torments: Solo in Kyoto – Solo (Kyoto, July 6, 1975) The Wire – Sextet recording (Tokyo, June 18, 1975)
  4. man I wish there was more of this from this period….
  5. Today
  6. Just shipped.
  7. Great label. Aside from the above posted Arthur Blythe "4 LP on 2 CD", all the releases I have are "British jazz". Neil Ardley is a name Roger didn't mention.
  8. The Henderson set has his usual energy. Sound is a little compressed to my ears. It’s not bad but isn’t as lively as I would have hoped for. A trio was probably his best setting.
  9. Vinyl edition of this release seems top notch to me. First spin this morning
  10. Trying to narrow down the track you are looking for to identify the album you bought in 1971: If you say the album does not appear in any listing, could you describe its cover as closely as you recall it? Normally it should be somewhere in the Discogs listings after all. It cannot be THAT obscure ... And after all it would be "only" the LPs released up to 1971 that would have to be checked. Considering you are in NZ, my guess is it is not unlikely it was a UK or Australian pressing you bought. And since you say that you "listened to many tracks but still can't locate the song", could you name the songs you listened to that are NOT the "first" track from that LP you are looking for? At least those "other" tracks you remember? All this just as an orientation for those trying to identify the LP.
  11. I've ordered mine at the local cd/vinyl shop. CD for me as it's digitally recorded and Elemental vinyl isn't any good. Two of my favorite artists I'd buy every next record that comes out by them. I've got around 9 duo discs by them and I love every single of them.
  12. Shazam did not solve this. Is that an accordion? No - it's not.
  13. April 27 Martin Wind - 1968
  14. Not Sirone...
  15. Hard to use "neo-colonial" in the context of a music that was expanding the boundaries of a prior revolutionary sound/approach.
  16. Coming out on lp and cd. Just spotted 2-cd set by elemental music at dusty groove. available may 1st. didn't see it mentioned as a RSD release
  17. Shazam did not solve this. Is that an accordion?
  18. This was my parents’ LP. It still sounds really good considering all it has been throughfour -kids playing it on Dad’s AR turntable- and I love the music. Dave Brubeck Quartet “Bossa Nova USA” Columbia stereo LP
