  2. Pim mentioned driving home from Tilburg in another thread today... Did that four times this week and now it's enough... It's not the prettiest of cities, buildings are strangely small - as seen in the picture- and the edges are still rough and there's nothing glorious about that... But the city does have one of the best bands playing South African Jazz in the Low countries, the various incarnations of Eric van der Westen's quintet...
  3. Thank you so much. But "proud" ? Most of the time I already think about what I we might do next. Time flies, you gotta go further and further, not to stand still. With the singer, well I didn´t want to make only instrumental records, and by the way, a stunning young lady singing with passion..... well I get older. Played all them ballads once without really knowing about the lyrics. As "older" I get, as more I want to get INSIDE the song. ( "older" from my birthdate, not from my mental and physical condition 😄 ) Anyway, it was a nice thing and ......pround.....well I think it´s a better and more personal statement than the album before "Waltz for Serena", which was more like a straight anhead album. Just today I had to do another little promotion clip at the label´s studio and signed for more collaboration..... And I think every musician will tell you that after recording something he thinks what he could have done better......

  8. A good show from Winterland right after the Dead returned from their Egypt shows. If I have one complaint it may be. . . too much slide guitar here and there. Grateful Dead “Road Trips Vol.1 Number 4–From Egypt with Love” disc 1
  9. You bet, appreciate you checking it out. The Arno Marsh at the very bottom is from 1983, shortly after I started here at Blue Lake. It's a live hit from a club in Grand Rapids called "Pier 28" and was one hour out of entire weekend that Arno had at the club, including a 3 or 4 tenor melee to end it all. Randy plays drums, the wonderful soul brother Eddie Russ is on piano and the bassist is Jeff Beavan, a Grand Rapids guy. Check out Arno playing like 5 choruses on "Body and Soul." Also down there is the Blue Lake Faculty at The White Sands which included trumpeter Louis Smith. His feature on "Oleo" opens the second hour of that, I believe. The Louis Bellson Explosion and Blue Lake Monster with Marcus Belgrave are also highlight the archive.
  10. My wife and I sat next to him for that VVC show. A true gentleman as well as, obviously, a wizard.
  11. Thanks for this. I believe the one at the very bottom ... Randy Marsh's Pop, Arno Marsh, is with Organissimo. A great set that I snagged in the past. actually I see the Organissimo with Arno Marsh higher up .. so this is more Arno? That should be great.
  12. Seeing that trio on 3/22 at Roulette in Brooklyn
  13. Interesting. I thought I had missed some of it. Thanks for pointing that out.
