    CD Japan

So I had pre-ordered a record from Korea I forgot about until Tuesday when I got an email it shipped. It was pre-ordered in July or August, I don’t remember but definitely before de minimus ended. Either way I wasn't asked to pay anything extra so either they ate the cost or FedEx will ask for money, though tracking doesn’t indicate I owe anything extra. Will be here tomorrow. We shall see.
  3. It's showing at a nearby film festival in mid-October. I'm on the fence but leaning against seeing it.
  4. Overlooked AND underrated!
  5. The two "unreleased" Village Vanguard tracks were included in the box set from that gig a few years after. Nothing that isn't available elsewhere in more complete form, which most completists probaly have. No idea about the mastering, but if it's by Hoffman, it probably sounds great.

  7. Week 18 picks https://doorfliesopen.com/2025/10/02/cfl-beat-251/ My picks... I hope everyone noticed that I picked the Elks last week. I felt pretty smart for a couple of days for that. In fact this morning, the Maestro at Door Flies Open sent kudos my way. That hasn't happened before. Roughriders over Redblacks - The Redblacks apparently threw in the towel when they sent Lorenzo Mauldin, an all-star last year, to the Stampeders this week. If the Redblacks lose, they will be the first to be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Tiger-Cats over Argonauts - The Argos have been inconsistent all year. I don't think Scott Milanovich is going to allow the Ticats to have two bad games in a row. Like the Redblacks, the Argos' backs are against the wall. Lions over Stampeders - The Lions are much improved, while the Stampeders are fading. ***** ***** Five noteworthy receivers https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/02/5-receivers-who-deserve-to-be-named-to-the-all-cfl-team/ ***** Game Notes https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/02/game-notes-what-you-need-to-know-ahead-of-week-18/ ***** Week 18 previews https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/02/3-keys-to-victory-for-saskatchewan-ottawa-in-week-18/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/02/rb-william-stanback-returns-to-ottawa-redblacks-lineup-against-riders/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/article/sole-possession-of-second-in-west-division-up-for-grabs-when-lions-host-stampeders/ https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/battle-for-2nd-calgary-stampeders-8-6-vs-bc-lions-8-7/ https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/can-the-calgary-stampeders-hold-on-to-2nd-place/ ***** Playoff Scenarios https://www.cfl.ca/2025/10/02/112th-grey-cup-playoff-scenarios-als-eye-playoff-berth-home-date/ https://3downnation.com/2025/10/02/b-c-lions-montreal-alouettes-eye-cfl-playoff-clinching-scenarios-in-week-18/

  10. The New Cars - It's Alive! This is a fun live album, Todd Rundgren plus Elliott Easton and Greg Hawkes from The Cars (plus Kasim Sulton and Prairie Prince), doing mostly Cars tracks, plus two Todd songs.
  11. I'm in for all of them except the Tolliver, which iirc was included as part of Mosaic's Tolliver Select set.

  16. Thanks for the clarification on my post, Mike!
  17. Thanks Randy and Stompin! I ordered one pair of each. (Anker P20i and JLab Go Air Pop+) Both are half-price today.
  18. John Coltrane “Blue World” Impulse Japan SHM-CD This album hasn’t really been played since it was first released. I’m enjoying correcting that. A very nice session.
  19. Disc 2 - originally released as 2 Atlantic LPs: Fathead Comes On and House of David
  20. Anker Soundcore brand makes some inexpensive blue tooth products (made in China) which have pretty good sound quality and offer noise canceling. I like the full over ear headsets they make, for example Q35. They have earbuds which probably have similar electronics. With blue tooth you get marvelous freedom of movement but the signal occasionally cuts out when you turn your head just the right way or get into a corner of the house where reception is poor. The dropouts are pretty rare and I just accept that. Another approach I sometimes use with iPhone is a small adapter which plugs into the the phone power port and has a mini-plug socket on the other end. Then I plug in wired Sony Studio Monitors or other phones, such as lightweight Koss SportaPros. To me Koss SportaPros sound better than most earbuds and are less wearying on the ear, physically. Sony Studio Monitors etc sound better but they are bulky.
