  1. My first thought was Earle Spencer.
  2. Gene wasn't beyond a little "slight of hand" - he issued 2 lps of "Art Tatum at the Crescendo" that I spotted as Standard transcription recordings with applause dubbed in. I mentioned that to him and he replied "Gee, no one ever mentioned that to me".
  3. Paal gave me this copy.
  4. Too bad they didn't include the other 2 tracks from these dates - Sweet and Lovely 10:32 from the first and Not Just to Be In Love Again 7:17 from the second. These tracks were issued in Xanadu compilations.

  6. The one I downloaded this week has 1408 pages and I am having search errors this morning. I checked the version I downloaded earlier (July 2018) and it has 1913 pages.
  7. I just kept entering other searches and pages kept loading. Don't know what else to say.

  9. Thanks to all. Part of the celebration involved a ribeye steak prepared by our chef son.

  11. You will get a bunch of "yesses".
  12. Sigh. It was designed to minimize the amount of tape needed to extract $8 from the kids. It brought its own mechanical problems, not as easily fixed as reel tapes.
  13. An old friend. Edit to add Jo Jones is a wizard here.
  14. Dave Rempis is celebrating the 7th anniversary of his Aerophonic label with a sale - https://aerophonicrecords.com/7-7/. I ordered a couple of new releases and filled some gaps from his catalog.
