  2. The lounge of the Student Union in Iowa City had a bunch of Blue Note stuff on it. This would be 1962/3. Some parts one and two. Blakey, Silver etc.
  3. My father had a 45 jukebox and I filled it with prime stuff. A few years later I saw the box was gone and he had sold it with my records inside. My brother said "cripes Dad, the records were worth more than the box".

  8. Great stuff indeed. Didn't know the quintet album but had the band lp. Got the OJC double in 2006 during the Fantasy pandemic.
  9. Where was his apartment then. I later spent time in him and his wife at their home in Lyons circa 1980.
  10. Ray recorded 2 lps for Dobre in the late '70s. Both are quartet dates with Ronnell Bright and Donald Dean. Herbie Lewis plays bass on one and Henry Franklin on the other. They are available as "manufactured cdrs" on Amazon

  12. No, for the book. I got the big box when issued for a bit over $2 a disc. Have a bunch of singles to dispose of.
  13. I ignored the Bluebird set called "The Birth of Swing" 'cause I had all the Bluebird lps, but I found a cd set for under $10 without a booklet. If anyone can supply scans I will be happy (not a normal thing).
