  1. Hadn't realized it was a Keepnews production.
  2. Willis Jackson Willis Jeeps Jeep Holland
  3. When I saw Bobby Bradford last week he encouraged me to read the book. He said "It's not because he's an old friend and used to be my drummer. It reads like a novel and I think you will find it interesting". I hope I got that quote correctly.
  4. Since this thread has ventured out of control, I offer:
  5. I had no idea he was still alive.
  6. Stealers Wheel Ten Wheel Drive Genya Ravan
  7. All those Dixon-produced Savoy LPs are great. I am of the understanding that licensing these would be pretty tough. A friend who runs a very above-board label was trying to reissue the Marzette Watts and gave up. Columbia Japan didn't seem particularly interested in back-catalog obscurities or going through the nominal amount of work to get them reissued by someone else. They are interesting, not great in my world. Interesting is better than half the stuff out there. Great is a commitment. This crap only drives up ebay prices for marginal records.
  8. Delete and bump again on the same friggin' day isn't cool.
  9. There are 7 alternates for It's Easy to Remember in the Deluxe Edition,
  10. Many thanks. Nowhere else can I piss off so many people with so little effort.
  11. I'm not going to get into a further discussion of RVG CDs - We've been there and done that. However, if it weren't for that "geriatric clown", you'd have very few BN SMH releases to listen to. Or you might buy a decent turntable and pick up a few King, Music Matters, Analogue Productions, whatever LPs and hear what that "geritric clown" did in his younger days. As someone who has done work with RVG, I find this revolting. Rudy deserves much better than this from "internet experts".
  12. I will catch them either in Chicago, Buffalo or NYC - or maybe more than once.
  13. Hm. I'd guess this is the concert I attended at Constellation.
  14. Back home now. Great to meet Ed and to spend some time with Bobby.
  15. No I meant an old regular contributor (and mail order customer) from Buffalo who left (maybe after trying to rip me a new one) and I figured he was still here. He was a great addition to the conversations of post '60s music and I miss him.
  16. This concert is on thursday the 27 and we will be there. If any Buffalo are folks are around (including departed members) please be in touch.
  17. Many thanks for this piece of history.
  18. Dr Joyce Brothers Joyce Collins John Collins
  19. Why would anyone care about "light" beers? If you like beer, you like beer.
  20. In the early '80s I met a fellow at the Jazz Record Mart looking for Booker Little records. He said Booker was his father. Seemed like a humble guy.
  21. New Directions was recorded in June of '78. Don't see it being released in the Summer.
  22. Memory is not too faulty, beyond typing this info earlier. :-0
