  1. Thanks. I just placed an order.
  2. My people are eternally grateful for the disappearance of Dreft and Halo. We sleep better without those slurs hanging around.
  3. Once you enter the world of "the Onion" you are up for grabs.
  4. Some version of this shot will be on the cover of our Ira Sullivan issue. It was shot by my good friend Terry Martin.
  5. I sold the bulk of my lp collection to finance the Art Ensemble box and my life while working on it. Thousands of discs went away. I miss something every day.
  6. Third Season is the title.
  7. Is it long enough?? I'm sure I can be altered.
  8. Just remembered I have a stack of JRVG obis in the drawer. Anyone want them?
  9. Don't worry, move on with your music. Certainly not looking for sympathy, just stating facts.
  10. Jack Nicholson Red Nichols Herbie
  11. I understand the allure of these issues. I admit to buying a couple. One huge problem is these sets take money away from labels creating recordings and paying royalties to artists. My label is in the midst of a horrible year and paid royalties well in excess of our profits. These folks do not have the same responsibilities. Since I have a "conflict of interest" YMMV.
  12. You seem to treasure it. Does not look like disposal at all. Are you toying with us?
  13. This looks like it would work for me.
  14. Can you provide a picture of you throwing one away? Then we might be able to comment.
  15. Yes it is available as part of Roscoe's L-R-G / The Maze / S II Examples. It was originally a 2 lp set now fitting on one disc. The music might not be in your "wheel house". L-R-G is 37 minute trio for woodwinds (Roscoe), high brass (Leo Smith) and low brass (George Lewis). The Maze is a 21 minute octet for all kinds of percussion. S II Examples is a 17 minute exploration of multi-phonics on the curved soprano saxophone.
  16. Young Mr Nessa at the session for Roscoe Mitchell's The Maze.
  17. Click on the image for an expanded view and some identifications.
  18. Why is Tim McCarver employed?

  22. Decided to ignore it. I loved Lester as musician and human. Had a nice exchange this week with Joe Bowie on the occasion of the birthday.
  23. Randy is a wonderful spirit and I was happy to connect again with him at the Chicago festival this year. Mark Sheldon took this shot after Randy's solo recital in the Cultural Center.
