  1. Started when it was 4.99, got bumped to 5.99. Late last year received an email saying the price was going to 6.99. I still get the 5.99 price. Ordered 3 today. When it really changes I might go away.
  2. I think this is a "popular music" mode. Not one I choose to follow.
  3. In 100 years (definitely 500 years), it's all going to sound dated... Not necessarily in the way B. meant.
  4. Hope that continues. always/sometimes?
  5. Why aren't you guys recording on disc? VHS=old technology, DVD=today. I bought a "combo" machine for about $180 and have been copying my tapes and recording new stuff for the minimal cost of the discs.
  6. Is the turntable grounded?
  7. Why not link this to a site "rewarding" organissimo?
  8. Huge error as a human being. I do think it's a really nice record.
  9. I think all the extraneous "entertainment" was really lame. I'm not sure why the NFL lets this shit continue. I know "money" is the answer but the "money" diminishes the game for me.
  10. All "props" to Mark, Rachel and David. Great victory.
  11. I can't get past the fact it's a a great group of musicians, at a good time in their lives and the production lets them down at every turn. I always saw this date as a missed opportunity.
  12. Mastered off of test pressings from the LP reissue. Don't think it's from tests but commercial pressings. A friend of mine was contacted by Sue and he asked for $300 for his set and she went "beserk". If she had "tests" she would not have been looking for others.
  13. Not if funds are tight. Everyone makes choices. Some folks require less time to decide.
  14. Everything is about dinero. And the price is.................. And your income is.............................. hey it's not about the dinero, it's about the music!
  15. Bringing the conversation back to Balliett - I have always thought he was a really bright guy with "really" flawed musical insight. Not bad, not good, just very interesting prose. Younger folks might find this difficult to understand but he was a beacon for us in the '50s and '60s, whether you agreed or not. Thank you Mr. Balliett. JHW always pissed me off and think his reputation outruns his "insight".
  16. And the price is.................. And your income is..............................
  17. Football fans who might be Bud Freeman fans should see my post in the Artists thread.

    Bud Freeman

Watching the Super Bowl and it made me think of Bud. In his final years he moved back to Chicago and a fan with season tickets frequently passed them on to Bud. He'd call me and ask for a ride. One time after a spectacular run by Walter Payton, Bud turned to me and said "That man IS an artist". The only Bears games I ever attended were in Bud's company. Thanks Bud.
  19. Just returned home (about 15 minutes ago) from a company party at the race track in Muskegon. We got stuck in the parking lot and the courtesy/security guys gave up and abandoned us. Eventually Ann and another kind soul pushed the car out while I gunned it in reverse. We were stuck for an hour. The drive home was a "white knuckler" with lousy visibility and traction. Did I mention it is 2 degrees?
  20. You haven't listened to it have you. The timings are way off on the cd.
  21. Wasn't it a red label? edit to say I meant the ESP.
  22. Really "hearing" 960, courtesy of Schnabel was a major event in my life. Thanks Franz and Artur.
  23. Sounds like you need a coffin. Less likely to be inspected too.
