  1. guess i have a different god.
  2. Tom and Jerry were decent "cartoons". The H-B stuff that comes later is crap as animation. Might be good tv, but that is far down the list. signed "the voice of god"
  3. Just stroke it as fast as you can.
  4. And Black Saint. Thanks. One difference is the Euro labels reacted to music issued on the US labels at the time.
  5. I'd suggest discussions about Prestige, Riverside, Savoy and more current labels as a corrective to the BN slant of our discussions. How about India Navigation? Too few titles? Is that important?
  6. I don't really want to play this game but this list comes close. OK - Where's Circle, Dave Holland's Conference of the Birds, Paul Bley and a bunch of Japos?
  7. 48 years after the sessions.
  8. They won't be dead 'til I get all my stuff out. Then it is over. If the Sony and BMG series were really active we wouldn't see Mosaic singles. Universal is a crapshoot depending on the current person employed to exploit catalog. Currently looks like downloads from them.
  9. The Swingtime lp you mention only has 4 of the 24 sides contained in the Uptown cd. The rest of the lp contained Mingus sideman appearances.
  10. Since you be goin' that direction, how 'bout "Come Go With Me" - Del Vikings.
  11. Yup, it's the other guy's fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
  12. Benny Carter went out of his way to ask me not to hire him for a gig. He said "I'm sure your selections will be fine - just don't hire Ron Carter". I know I've told this story a couple times before, but I never tire of it.
  13. Is that the one with the Plague Suite ? Killer stuff . Stupid typo. It is an lp issued by Grinnell College of a concert performed there. The notes mention a jam session organized by student Herb Hancock. Contents are: Blue Skies Black and Tan Fantasy Skin Deep Sophisticated Lady Pretty and the Wolf Newport Up Stompin' at the Savoy Clarinet Melodrama Perdido Ellingtonia
  14. Duke Ellington - 15 Swing - January 10, 1557.
  15. Also an opportunity to hear more Frank Chace. Always a good thing.
  16. Almost everyone agrees Sheldon has fine panties. -_-
  17. The "season" this year is just ok.
  18. Ann's reaction is "You got some more cds in the mail".
  19. Never saw one with a place to connect the rabbit ears.
  20. G'bye Kenny.
