If you read this book, it's a bit surprising that he lived as long as he did: -
Actor David Carradine found dead in Bangkok

Oh, this is truly awful...really, really sad... I know nothing of Kill Bill but I absolutely lived for Kung Fu back in the day. The ...Legend Continues wasn't all that great, but it was a fun continuation of the original and there were nearly twice as many episodes. He seemed to take any work that he could get - and I mean any work, but his screen presence was such that he could get away with the worst of things thrown at him. The DVD set of the entire Kung Fu series have some really nice extras (except for the last bit when he sits at a piano and attempts to sing), but his quest to visit a certain Zen Temple in China was quite touching. I just don't understand this suicide - a Buddhist suicide, much like that of Chögyam Trungpa seems somehow more perplexing to me. I am so crestfallen... -

Has anyone found a way to actually kill

They're there for a reason. Get rid of that reason and then you won't have to kill them. -
Sad. Great entertainer with a powerful voice. http://tinyurl.com/pkcs9e

Earliest Known Sound Recordings Revealed
rostasi replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Back in February, Infrequency released a disc with 9 composers called "AU CLAIR DE LA LUNE" which features various remixes of this short de Martinville recording. Composer Alvin Lucier thought it a brilliant idea and was very supportive. -
Delete tunes (not restore). A "smart" playlist is selected by random means, then I drag the tunes over. Usually good for a long while. It's like having a mix tape or disc, but way bigger!

Under different conditions, these bollards (which sink into the ground) are real traffic stoppers. There's a bunch of YouTube vids that you can find with people trying to get past rising ones, often with disastrous results. From a more educational perspective, you can see how incredibly effective these are.

What Are Your Earliest Memories of Music?

jazz...nearly all jazz... -
Yes, buy two to mirror! Very important! Forgot to mention that I have a My Book Premium II which has worked flawlessly as well (for mirroring) but it's bulkier than I want, so I'm going to buy again the Studio Edition for small size and reliability.

I've listened to it 3 times now and I really like it! I'm terrible at music explanation, but it has a real "no wasted notes" feel but still strongly reminiscent of their late 80's work. They seem to really have a grasp on being able to graph their own personal style on top of whatever historical rock era that they want to explore. For example, on "Anti-Orgasm", it begins with a real 60's garage band sound with flirtations with 80's No-Wave and then, 3 and a half minutes into the song they drop down in intensity and they start tugging at 70's Kosmische musik! Some of this leaks into other songs like "Antenna" which mixes Neu, the Velvets with Flying Nun label sensibilities in a 6 minute track. Anyway, there's much more here and it grows well - I like it!

Yeah, those were dumb ideas akin to taking a hammer to something... No extra ideas about the Buffalo, but when I was doing research a year and a half ago on externals I learned that even tho LaCie got great reviews from pubs like Consumer Reports and/or various Mac magazines, the real reviews were from people who had actually put their drives thru hard everyday use and the LaCie owners were not at all happy. Complaints were often the same as what you've stated. I'd found that a lot of folks were really sold on the My Book Studio Edition from WD, so I picked one up and it's worked flawlessly for 16 months. It's bursting at the seams now, so it's time to look into another one. Also, I'm going to have to start researching internal drives 'cause I've got 4 bays to fill now and I'm hoping that WD will come thru again. http://tinyurl.com/lb8luh & http://tinyurl.com/atttov

Eminem Walks Out of MTV Awards After Bruno Prank

The real funny is the oh so seriousness by a certain chunk of the child audience. Humorless self-importance from musical "stars" is seriously sick. Many of the girls "got it" tho. -
Yes, "restore" is a possibility, but you have to follow this step (depending on the age of your iPod) by unmounting the iPod and plugging it into a wall socket using your Power adapter, then, you have to reset all of your settings on it before you connect it back to your computer. Too much stuff to do - just highlight your songs and "delete."
-
Jim's right. Just highlight all the tunes on your iPod and hit delete (or Command>Delete). You'll now have nothing on it. You may have to remount it, but after that it'll sync to your current iTunes list. ®

I liked it when Shawn got curious with "Someday..." and then Rooster mentioned "Willie Nelson"... Unfortunately, I forgot that I'd only transferred a few plug-ins to my new computer, and I don't have the time to devote to a studied 5 minute treatment, so it's just a flashy cut-up mess for now. ...but it was fun and that's what it's all about eh?

Thanks for this! It's fun to see Hans Conried too! Two years ago, I bought the complete "Fractured Flickers" DVD set which was his show back in the day. Thanks! R -
Yup, that's true, but I thought that would mean that he'd have to read the entire thread!
