And now onto Farlow Disc V.... It's a good Mosaic day!!!
and perhaps finally... (for the day)... Golson/Farmer/Jazztet - Disc VI....!!!!
Okay I changed my mind.... Gerald Wilson Disc 4
Disc 7
now onto Disc 6... It's that backward playing thing again Ron... You know... just like during the 1970s'..... if I play the CDs in backwards order and I listen closely, I can hear a message that says something like... "PREORDER, PREORDER"....
So is this in Oliver Nelson set??? Sounds like your saying its not... Bummer... I like that James Bond stuff....
Eight woodwinds does not a "big band" make, but I'd like to hear the writing anyway!
What can I tell ya... I'm just an ass backwards kinda guy ... And for my encore.. I'm playing Stanley Turrentine Disc 2 followed by Disc 1.... and I may even preorder the next OOP set... Time to call Ms. Cleo....
Listen, Dude--watch it with that playing-discs-in-reverse-order stuff, OK??? There's something kinda, um, I dunno . . . unnatural about it.
Onto Hank Mobley Disc 2
Changed my mind.... Brookmeyer Disc 3....
Damn that was a GREAT CD!!! Sweets Edison sounding fine! And is it my imagination or does Big Miller (tracks 2 and 6) sound a lot like Joe Williams???
Well guess I have to go listen to Disc 2 now...
A little late (2 days ago)... but Finished another spin of the Tolliver Disc 3... that's a good set... but I do have a question...
On Disc 3... does the band sound kinda distant??
the old fashioned.. telephone to Headquarters!!!
Okay, I give. How does one pre-order these titles? I certainly don't have any live links on the Mosaic website that would permit. Perhaps this is a conceptual/spiritual preorder.
I assume people are getting their discographical information from other sources (e.g., AllMusic, LPs owned...), since what Mosaic provides is sketchy.
Sorry.... I stand corrected.... Disc 4 has been inserted....
thank YOU
It's a requirement--can't play Disc 3 without following it up with Disc 4 (read your user's manual ).
probably 10-12 (Stitt, Blakey, Morgan, Columbia Swing, Elvin, Parlan, Anita, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah W., Farlow, Johnny Smith, Wilson, McLean... and a few more... ) AND????
So how many 5-10 cd sets have you purchased?
Yeah... and now youre going to tell me there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq....(Sorry I couldn't resist... ) But I don't think I'm completely crazy....
it DOES seem that by doing this.... they are going AGAINST/EXPANDING (choose your own term) their original focus.....
