Onto the 2nd spin of Charles Tolliver Disc 3!!!! and Disc 2!

getting the morning off to a swinging (hopefully productive) start with Stanley Turrentine Disc 4 and 5.. DAMN this is a GOOD SET! (Forgot how good!!! )

Sonny Stitt Disc 5.... I'm beginning to think this is an underrated set.. by the very few mentions of it on this board...

Got a positive reply from Mosaic about the Betty Carter possibility... to summarize... "The Verve stuff and the material from her own label... might be a possibility...." I really HOPE they do this... She deserves it! How about some lobbying????

Just sent the following email off to Mosaic.... whaddya thinK? hey there.. How about the Complete Verve/Roulette/Capitol Recordings of Betty Carter. I know some of these titles are still in print and were released in the late 80s/early 90s but this is a compelling set for a few reasons.... 1. She did not have a tremendous number of sessions (and this 6-8 CD set) would represent a major portion of her career. 2. She was (at the time) and still is a tremendously underrated rated musician. 3. Once these final existing Cd's disappear from record shelves no one is going to reissue them. 4. With the popularity of the jazz vocalist today (good and bad)... she represented the one of the last great "throwbacks" if you will. 5. It will do well with the hardcore (me) Mosaic fan base.... So please let me know if thats a good possibility..... And any chance.... we'll get some a Select set of unreleased live Michel Petrucciani??? thanks

have we finally determined... on that upcoming dizzy set... What is currently in print??? I know that "An Electrifying Evening with Dizzy Gillespie" is still in print??? Others??

Sonny Stitt - Disc 7.... I'm beginning to feeel like I need to plug this set a little more....

Horace Parlan Disc 3... Wadin'... a great way to start this set.... and there's a bottle of red wine airing and waiting for me... So at the end of disc 3... comes dinner... wine... and disc 4.... I NEEDED this after 2 days with my infant daughter who's sneezed, coughed and wiped her runny nose on every article of clothing I own.... Those of you with kids - KNOW what I'm talking about!!!!

so each will have 1 disc... or did they record together???

just outta curiousity... I've just started listening to him and checked out his discography and noticed he had a fair number of Verve dates... is it fair to assume that the reason there hasn't been a Mosaic set is because a lot of the material is still in print??? What's not? What would be on a set??? As I have nothing by him.. should I start on his Fantasy/OJC stuff in the hope that a Mosaic set does come out??? What's his 2 or 3 best albums?? thanks
