  1. Australian conductor Sir Charles Mackerras has died. He was 84. BBC obit
  2. Mosaic's Scott Wenzel just told me that they are not planning a Complete Keynote CD-set at the moment; the chances that there ever will be one are very, very slim.
  3. short AMG review of Posthumous
  4. They played only 3 games, which made it easier to remain unbeaten
  5. If everyone can do this, it would be ultra snazzy. If you find someone not complying with the new rule, please report the post to me and the moderators. Thank you! Please observe this forum rule. Thanks.
  6. This post has been edited by J.A.W.: 04 June 2010 - 01:49 PM not to start a ruckus - but i am curious as to what was edited in this post by the moderator? I think there was a link to the MOSAIC SELECTs There was something wrong with the original links. I don't remember exactly what (it's over a month ago), but they didn't work properly. I fixed them, and that's all I did.
  7. And I wonder where the seller got it from...
  8. Yes, we agreed a price and the seller will mail the disc to an American friend of mine. Thanks again!
  9. He mentioned those two in his post (second paragraph)
  10. Amen to that. Both the teams had myriad chances but not one guy who could finish. Alexi Lalas said this game was like putting lipstick on a pig. That's a pretty accurate description. Nonetheless, congrats to the Spanish side. Ugly or not, a World Cup is still a World Cup. I was referring to the whole tournament There were only a few teams that played attractive football, though not always.
  11. A final WC 2010 post from me: I didn't see the final, and I just heard that Spain won 1-0 after extra time and that the only things the Dutch team won were yellow and red cards. Shame on them and many congratulations to Spain, they had the best team. I hope the Dutch team will now return to the kind of football they played in the 1974, 1978, 1988 (Euro 88) and 1998 tournaments, which I loved them for. Quality-wise this has been a very disappointing World Cup.
  12. Thanks. I've contacted the seller.
  13. This doesn't answer your question, but it's nevertheless interesting: The Story of Everest Records (wikipedia, for what it's worth)
  14. I am looking for the original 1987 CD issue of Wayne Shorter's album Odyssey of Iska in excellent or better condition. Please note: I don't want the later on-demand-only Blue Note CD-R! PayPal is my only payment option. Please PM me if you're selling it or know where I can get one.
  15. I merged the threads about the Black Saint/Soul Note box sets to keep all info and opinions in one place.
  16. Well, not this time. Congratulations to Spain, their win is deserved.
  17. Well, the Germans always win in the last few seconds of a game, so...
  18. Anyone else having these problems? Everything's still OK here.
  19. On Wikipedia and All Music Guide Fuqua is not credited as (co-)author of "Dance with Me Henry".
  20. Couldn't agree more. The Moonglows were one of the great doo-wop groups.
  21. Harvey Fuqua, founder of doo-wop group the Moonglows and Motown executive, has died. He was 80. obit obit
  22. No problem here, with either Firefox 3.6.6 or IE8.
  23. If I'm not mistaken it will be a (very expensive) 45RPM LP-set on the Music Matters label. It's not available yet. It'll probably also be released as an XRCD (playable on regular CD-players) on the Audio Wave label. Joe Harley, the author of the post that was quoted in the first post of this thread, is involved in both projects.
