  1. It is, it's a great recording by the inimitable Roy DuNann.
  2. The set was 20-bit K2 remastered, so the answer would be yes. The music is excellent, but to my ears the set sounds as if the higher frequencies were boosted and it also sounds loud/compressed compared to the individual CDs with the same material. I didn't like it and sold it.

    James Moody

    Seconded!
  4. Charly did indeed release unlicensed stuff. For example, their Chess releases were all unauthorized.
  5. County Records' Old-Time CDs are excellent and the sound is relatively great. Richard Nevins did quite a few masterings for them. For classic Bluegrass my favourite label is Bear Family, with their great Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and Stanley Brothers sets, but County has some good stuff too.
  6. Internet Explorer. IE8 or an older version? If you're using IE8, click on the "compatibility" button next to the address bar and try "view new content" again. My regular browser is Firefox, but when I use IE8 I don't have any problems either.
  7. No problems here either. HP, which browser are you using?
  8. Maybe they could make it an ongoing series of boxes, like they did with Commodore
  9. Maybe because it's not a metal-spine box? Neither is the Silent Way box. You're right. Well, I have no idea then
  10. Apparently you didn't see Brownie's post earlier in this thread, here.
  11. Maybe because it's not a metal-spine box? You're not exaggerating...
  12. Maybe I'm mistaken, but isn't that thread about the 70CD/1DVD Complete Columbia Album Collection box? Leeway is talking about a different set, the upcoming trumpet case box with all the metal-spine box sets.
  13. Yeah, how totally idiotic. I was going to order the Jamal but, if they don't want me to ... :/ I agree. I've e-mailed Scott Wenzel about this. I got this reply from Mosaic's Fred (he gave his permission to quote it): Alternatively, you can wait until after August 31 and then order both sets at the "old" prices, of course
  14. Commenting on the prices of items someone is selling is against forum rules, but asking for advice and discussing the best way to sell stuff isn't.
  15. See forum rule 8. You commented that the original poster had priced the items way too high, that's why your post was deleted. You can't be reached by PM, so contacting you is not possible.
  16. Maybe King Ubu did, he lives in Switzerland.

  18. I've moved the non-sale discussion posts to the Zappa thread.
  19. Awesome. This would make a great Mosaic box or a series of boxes...
  20. Wikipedia (with discography - for what it's worth )
  21. Strata East was formed by Charles Tolliver and Stanley Cowell, back in 1971. According to Michael Cuscuna's notes to the Tolliver Mosaic Select the recordings are owned by the artists themselves, so maybe that's the reason why so few have been released on CD. Apart from the Tolliver Mosaic, I have only one Strata East album on CD, Clifford Jordan's Glass Bead Games, which was issued by the Japanese Bomba label. (edit) See felser's post above for more info
