Might be worth cancelling and pre-ordering with Amazon Italy! http://www.amazon.it/Movin-Complete-Verve-Studio-Recordings/dp/B005CAAUGM/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1317794847&sr=1-1 Asuming the Italian economy doesn't melt down.. They are very reliable! Thanks for the tip! Just shipped by Amazon.it !

I ordered 2 weeks ago the 3 boxes of their complete Django Reinhardt (3 boxes, 7 double Cd sets each) from Amazon.co.UK. 42 GBP/box and 60 GBP/box, i.e. 162 GBP for the totality. Very good price since normally each 2-CD set costs around 25 GBP, resulting to 21 sets x 25GBP/box = 525 GBP. 42 GBP 60 GBP 60 GBP

...which arrived today... #127 for the Luncerford and #4816 (!) for the Hampton set! Those are two GREAT sets! #4816, that means the Hampton might be moving to the "Running Low" category soon....Get it while you can everybody! I was ASTOUNDED with the sound quality on this set, and the music is very enjoyable. Some of the best uptempo Hodges playing I've heard. Also, you can't beat a horn section of Benny Carter, Chu Berry, Coleman Hawkins and Dizzy!!! Me too. The Hampton set sounds amazing! And I went directly to these Dizzy (w./ Charlie Christian) tracks. Fabulous!

Can anyone recommend any classical saxophone?
RiRiIII replied to blind-blake's topic in Classical Discussion
Also this one: GEORGES APERGHIS Crosswind Geneviève Strosser viola XASAX Marcus Weiss tenor saxophone Pierre-Stephane Meugés soprano saxophone Includes booklet with text by Patrick Hahn 0012942KAI - 2009 tracklisting: (01) Crosswind for viola and four saxophones (1997) 12:51 (02) Alter ego for saxophone (2001) 7:53 (03) Rasch version for viola and saxohone (2006) 6:07 (04) Volte-face for viola (1997) 8:52 (05) Signaux version for 12 saxophones (1978) 13:17 TT: 49:25 He would not have been the first well-known composer for musical theatre who neglected the less “spectacular” varieties of music. But unlike the “symphonic form”, which Georges Aperghis has been rarely considered ever since his initial attempt in 1972, chamber music recurs throughout his œuvre. As though staging a theatrical work, Aperghis plays his game in a chamber-music hall with ever-new instrumental combinations, at the same time creating a connection between them and European musical tradition. He is always seeking voices. “It is similar to seeing the image of someone in a photo and wondering how their voice sounds. Is it nasal, is it high, is it low? Were they breathing heavily or easily? An instrument always remains the same. But the real question is: how does the voice of this instruments sound in this piece?” (Georges Aperghis) -

Dear friends I try to sort out Duke's discography and found this website: http://ellingtonia.com/ that looks really good. Are there any alternatives in electronic and/or printed format that I could consult? All my thanks!
