  5. Amazing, thanks!
  6. Dear friends I try to sort out Duke's discography and found this website: http://ellingtonia.com/ that looks really good. Are there any alternatives in electronic and/or printed format that I could consult? All my thanks!
  7. Mine #921 arrived today. Isn't the booklet slightly downsized?
  8. A set is flying to Greece since yesterday!! Very thrilled about it!
  9. I just (shame on me) discovered Jamal through the Legacy CD with the Epic/Okeh recordings. How marvelous! What a trio! Really fantastic!! On to Mosaic now! Thanks for the discussions, Alex Athens,Greece
  10. Sonny Rollins added Athens, Greece as the last stop of his 80th Anniversary tour!! We are thrilled for his first ever visit in Greece!!
  11. http://www.jpc.de/jpcng/jazz/detail/-/art/Jazz-La-Discotheque-Ideale-25-Original-Alben/hnum/3677580 42 Euro! I am tempted too...
  12. Strange thing: Mosaic charged my card when I placed my order (Bix et al.) 2 weeks ago but they shipped only yesterday. In the past, they only charged upon shipment. Did you have similar experience? No big deal, but...
  13. We are back and celebrated the whole day! N
  14. Mine is #7442 and arrived today (ordered and shipped a month ago). No customs paid (after all we not famous for our efficient public servants here in Greece and the declared value did not justify any customs charging)...
  15. The Mosaic collectors are their #1 target for investigation I heard :-) Sshhhh .... don't let the Greek Treasury know. Or the German one... Sshhhh .... don't let the Greek Treasury know. Or the German one... The Mosaic collectors are their #1 target for investigation I heard :-)
  16. Curious to know what the postage is on a haul like that? Must be a small fortune... When the sets finally reach Belgium, the buyer probably also will have to fork out a small fortune on tax/duty and fees. Hello From Greece! Since we are (still...:-))) in the EU we are treated the same way as Belgium. The postage costs depends on the value of the items purchased from Mosaic. Approx 20-40 USD. With some arrangement with the previous logistics configuration I managed not to pay any taxes which amount approx to 25% of the declared value. Now this changed and I am waiting eagerly to see what will happen with the Mobley set I ordered 3 weeks ago.
  17. I listened this morning the initial tracks of the 1943 concert. What great music and performers; you immediately forget any remastering issues whatsoever! Attack!
  18. Mine also arrived from jpc in Germany for 23 Euro. It is, as you can see also from the photos already provided by other poster in this thread, a local release by the Italian branch of Universal! This is why Amazon com has it for 75 USD!! A nice set of course. Alex, 23 €??? Will you be kind enough to give us the link??? Fron where I am now I can only use my blackberry and it is impossible to navigate nicely in the wenb with it. Please go to www.jpc.de , then choose the english language and do a search and you will immediately find it. If in trouble let me know. Alex

  20. I agree. The other LP on the twofer, "Do you know the way to San Jose" is a good bit better. But "Soul food" and "Chicken & Dumplin's" kick the ass of all other Timmons LPs. MG Many thanks for all your responses!
  21. Bobby Timmons' "Got to Get it!" is still available from Japan. Any comments on this one? http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=UCCO-9480&ref=myp Many thanks Alex
  22. No caddy for daddy this year? "Caddy for Daddy" this is an amazing Mobley recording I recently purchased as a SACD (Analogue Productions) and listened to a dozen times already!
  23. Any hint as to where I could order the Odyssey box set from? Many thanks!
  24. Indeed! We had the chance to have him and the "Dear Miles" set in 2008 in Athens, Greece. Two photos from the concert are attached. 2008/09 was very jazzy in Athens: in 4 months we had Hancock, Shorter, Carter, Al Foster and Corea/McLaughlin Peace Band. Happy Birthday Mr. Carter! Alex
