  1. Circa 1968. I just ordered it so we shall see. Bertrand.
  2. I just found out about this release so haven't had a chance to get it yet. Did anyone here buy it already? If so, what do the liner notes say about the opening track, 'Utopia'? Thanks, Bertrand.
  3. After all, the JRVG sounds like AM radio Wasn't this Fickle Sonance Rather than Capuchin Swing? Bertrand.
  4. Best belated wishes! Bertrand. P.S. The Metro is still one of the good things about the DC area. It works. You must not have used it recently
  5. Lonnie Liston Smith, organ and various other instruments This makes me want to just cry. There's a story behind this. Bertrand.
  6. Hardly any jazz on the schedule, I'm afraid. I like the Blue Oyster Cult (more cowbell!), but they do not belong in this theatre. Bertrand.
  7. Ludwig recalls the likes of Grant Green, and Larry Young recording for them as well. This statement does not explicitely claim that Larry Young is the organist on Iron City and almost seems to imply that there was a separate Young recording, but since no such recording has ever surfaced to my knowledge, I assume that Ludwig meant that Green and Young were on the same record date. I need to wander over to Amazon to see what else Mr. Klein has to say about this session. Bertrand.
  8. That's easy. It's the person with the world's largest head. Here's one to keep you guessing: Jennifer Anniston? Bertrand.

Great to hear from you! Bertrand.
  10. I hope you didn't call her 'Betty'. Bertrand.
  11. Does no one remember Stu Sutcliffe? Bertrand.
  12. Chalk and cheese, as the British would say. I can't understand why anyone who likes Lee Morgan can tolerate listening to WM for even two seconds. His trumpet sounds all wrong. Bertrand.
  13. Welcome back! And Brownie, best wishes on a speedy recovery. Bertrand.
  14. Have a great one! Bertrand.
  15. Thanks Stefan, this looks like something I definitely need to pick up. Bertrand.
  16. I love the good Dr., but I don't necessarily need to own every record he ever made. How is this one? I am intrigued by the 17-minute version of 'Stand!'. Thanks, Bertrand.
  17. Happy Birthday! Bertrand.
  18. Yes, Lee has many unrecorded tunes. Bertrand.
  19. Not only does Aric know about it, but Sunnenblick hired him to write the liner notes. Bertrand.
  20. Look at the dates. The original date of copyright is around the time of the recording (EU). The next date is the renewal (RE). If Hank was still alive, he renewed it. After his death, his father Otis Rogers, took over. All renewals were done through Don Sickler's Second Floor Music, which took over Hank's publishing. Bertrand.
  21. This looks promising - Blue Mitchell, Stanley Turrentine and Frank Haines. Any reason not to get this? Are the compositions somewhat interesting? Thanks, Bertraand.
  22. Let's put together a wish list and I'll try to get a contact. Bertrand.
  23. Any way to put a bug in the ear of the people who run the TOCJ reissues? Bertrand.
  24. Even without the scribble I know that's Lea Thompson. I saw Gilli Smith once opening for Richard Sinclair. She was awful. Bertrand.
  25. Art Farmers' twin brother, bassist Addison died in 1963. He was only 34. What were the circumstances of his death? Thanks, Bertrand.
