  1. Are you kidding? I'm thrilled the Brew-crew are having a banner year! I'm even more excited for Coco, proving once again that any pitcher that gets out of the incompetence of the Rangers "organization" always flourishes.
  2. Sammy Sosa hits #600 tonight, and we were all there to see it!!!!
  3. Probably my favorite Wes/Jimmy tune. Crank that mutha UP!!!
  4. Every now and then, Klosterman writes something that sounds like he's lived my life. This is one of those instances.
  5. Glad you're back here; we're here for ya, and PLEASE take care of yourself!
  6. "Don't Tease Me" from ZZ Top's El Loco because it isn't on the recent ZZ box, I got the vinyl yesterday, but haven't had a chance to put it on a CD for listening in the car/at work.
  7. Pity they didn't include the Thad or the A.T.
  8. These are just about my two favorites also, although there are a lot of excellent albums within a very close margin. What they said!!!!
  9. I don't think so. In that case you'd still be able to access the auction page, and it would say "the seller has ended the auction early because xxxx" or something like that. When I tried to access the auction yesterday I got the message that it had been removed by eBay. I think he was referring to that line from The Godfather.
  10. HAH!!! That was great! But I couldn't help but think that could very well be the Rangers in 2057.... except they would be BEGGING Clemens to pitch for them!
  11. OYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Hey, that's not fair! I've devoted equal time to how much the Rangers suck this year! This weekend's series against the Reds will determine who is the worst team in baseball, a contest between the worst of the NL and the worst of the AL. Finally, a contest the Rangers actually have a decent shot at.... er, winning!
  13. I could not agree more!!! Brilliantly said! Nice to see some love for FAT ALBERT ROTUNDA, on which Joe also (and magnificently) appears!
  14. Just curious: if you already have the Mosaic, and now you're getting the JRVG's of these sessions, why would it matter if there are missing tracks on the JRVG's? If I can replicate the Mosaic, I'll sell it. I rarely play my Mosaic CDs any more because a majority of my listening is done in the car. These CD sets are far too valuable to bring there. Actually, I am really trying to switch over to old TOCJ CDs. I really like the sound of those most of all. That's cool. If sound quality were your only concern, I can see where you're coming from. But why would you want to take along your TOCJ's in the car? Those are pretty pricey as well! Can't you just make CDRs of your Mosaics for the car? That's what I did!
  15. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!
  16. I wouldn't bet the farm on this, but it seems pretty plausible. Snape's wholehearted defection in book 6 is a little strange; if Rowling really wanted to make him an agent of Voldemort's, she would have made the character much more conflicted. Guy Exactly! I think Snape's defection is a put-on, the work of someone who has simultanesouly cultivated the trust of both Dumbledore AND Voldemort. Now that I think of it, Snape, to follow Sal's thinking, could very well be that third force. Snape is only in it for himself! Hmmmmmm..........
  17. Predictions for book 7 anyone? 1. Dumbledore is NOT dead. Snape IS in on the plot to make it look like he's dead, but Dumbledore is not dead. It is a ruse to make Voldemort think he's out of the way. 2. Percy Weasley is a Death Eater. Pure-blood, disagrees vehemently with his parents, always an air of superiority. Been working inside the Ministry in order to feed info to the Dark Lord, who uses Percy's thirst for power and his pure-bloodline in order to bring him over to the dark side. I have no idea who WILL die, and I'm not even sure that Harry and/or Voldemort will die. But I'm pretty confident about those other two. As for this series, I haven't read each book as they came out; in fact, I'm still in the middle of book 6 (I cheated when it came out: I read the last three chapters to see who would die.), and even though I know how the book ends, I still can't stop listening to it (Book-on-CD doncha know; that's how I've read the bulk of this series. Listen to the CD in the car, pick up the book when I get home!).

  19. Again, trying to calm the frenzy, the way this reads, I draw the following conclusions: 1) Althought Stuart is losing his job, it's not until the end of September. This would give Iron Mountain staff plenty of time to consult with Stuart while bar-coding everything to insure that the archiving is done properly. While I have no reason to doubt the job that Iron Mountain will do, again, I hope I'm not being naive in assuming that IM will consult with Stuart extensively before his departure. 2) Iron Mountain is doing the right thing in changing the locks, and remember: as Stuart said himself, no one was locked out (except him for a couple of hours). This is just standard business practice: ensure the security of that for which you are responsible. I know it sounds harsh, as if they're saying "We don't trust the very people who put this all together," but the simple fact is there is no other way to ensure 100% security. IM is paid to do a job; let them do it the way they've been doing it. Whether or not we like the way we do it is a moot point. I'm not trying to make light of this situation, nor am I trying to view this situation through rose-colored glasses. But I do think there is a bit of an overreaction to this situation (not nearly as bad as the overreaction over at SH).
  20. Me too, but just ONCE I'd like to be the first to read a thread like this!
  21. Word for word, baby!
  22. I've got the Mosaic at home; I'll post the disco (or at the very least, answer your question) when I get home tonight. Also, did you check www.jazzdisco.org? They're pretty thorough.
