Listing corrected after the listing in the Mosaic Select booklet. No idea what "Tambauri" is supposed to be. Trumpets and French Horn changed for the last session, I made a collective listing. Oh how I love those alphabetical instrument listings on discogs ....

Contrary to the recent Coltrane "discovery", no info about the circumstances of the find. Sound is good, bass a bit too low in the mix, and the sound man took a few bars to open the vocal mic, but otherwise it's okay.

The Complete Clef/Norgran/Verve sessions of Louis Bellson If they can do Buddy Rich, why not Bellson? Lots of Ellingtonians and other good soloists here.

I once received a CD with totally different music on it - print and all was correct, but what came from my speakers was not what was written. Amazon has a menu in your purchase page for such things.

Received it today - it's great. She seems a bit more subdued than usual, but that only raises the intensity level. 33 minutes, standard for a Newport performance. For Simone fans, a must have.

R.I.P. He was responsible for the Cuban influence in Brazilian music through his membership in Mongo Santamaria's band - many montunos in his pieces. This is one of my favourites:

It's here, and I listened to the first two tracks. It gives a good impression of how the quartet sounded live at the Gate, engineer Richard Aldersons's notes are a great read and leave nothing to be desired as far as information on the sound is concerned. Elvin was loud, but that's what Coltrane wanted him to be.

Perhaps the perfect time to sell this.

My copy is supposed to arrive within the next hour ...

One of mine, too, although for Antonioni, not for Birkin. She was a teenager back then, and grew into a fascinating person over the years. I once sat in a Paris Café when she strolled by - quite an aura. R.I.P.
