  4. And how did I forgot The Balimaya Project. Possibly concert of the year alongside the Brotzmann
  5. I know them. This is a female vocalist, sorry wasn't thinking about his solo albums.
  6. It is. Pretty typical Texier, those rolling bass themes, some nice added wordless vocals which I'm not sure he's used before. One vocal standard and a lovely tribute to Carla Bley and Steve Swallow It certainly is
  7. Henri Texier - An Indian's Life [Label Bleu, France 2023]
  8. My concert going has necessarily and unfortunately dwindled considerably over recent years but in 2023 I enjoyed Tyshawn Sorey - solo piano The Necks Charles Lloyd Ocean Trio Makaya McCraven playing In Our Times Peter Brotzmann Trio, his last concert. RIP Nik Bartsch Sophie Agnel Nubya Garcia playing Focus Matthew Halsall And away from the Jazz/Improv world... 10. Nobuo Hara And Sharps & Flats - Double Exposure [Liberty, 1970 Japan]
  11. I don't know that but I'm always up for some indo-Jazz
  12. An essential part of the UK, and beyond, scene. So much music released to the world's ears. I remember him regularly on the door at the Red Rose Cub and other gigs with an always tempting selection of CDs. Also not forgetting the work he did distributing and retailing Evan Parker's Psi label
  13. Very fitting. If that was the funeral heaven alone knows what the wake was like...
  14. How is that? I saw them perform music from that. It was a very powerful gig, hope the album is good too. It will be a post Xmas purchase for me I think Anything that Reed's involved in is worthy of attention I find
  15. Neil Young - Before and After Quintessential and quite beautiful
  16. Yes, it's about a quarter of the price of buying the UK versions. Unfortunately the US version side 4 is pressed off centre which leads to a little distortion. This will do until I can afford a UK upgrade. Great music
  17. Mike Westbrook Concert Band - Marching Song (An Anti-War Jazz Symphony) [Deram/London, 1970 uS 2LP] Today's arrival
  18. Interesting. A couple of his Soul Note LPs are in my offload pile...
  19. Yes, I passed too. Will no doubt regret it when it's sold out
  20. Just off Essex Road, Hunter's Arms in Southgate Road. M-in-L's local so easy for her. Nice place, good veggie Sunday roast and non veggie menu looked ok. Lots of millennials and younger, we raised average age considerably. Looked kid friendly too. Mulled cider a hit
  21. I was in rain soaked Essex Road too, no Salsa or Xmas tree though 👍
