Why not email them and ask them? They've always been friendly and approachable when I've communicated with them. I think we know that the Rivers estate dictated no download version (can't remember where I read this or maybe I just imagined it) so there may be other restrictions including presenting them as a box set

And I have it. But his return was with "Wild Man Dance " in 2015 since when we've had "8:Kindred Spirits Live" on BN -
LP1 "I Talk With The Spirits" I love how this edition sounds. So pleased I was extravagant on New Years Eve (no alcohol involved whatsoever )

Charles Lloyd new album Tone Poem (plays Ornette!)

It was for the "new" BN and I don't think he's been away since as his subsequent releases have been on the label so not sure what the return is except a better way of saying "again" -

In the spirit of research and adventure perhaps? -
I thought similarly. I think the abuse was outlined in the autobio but can't remember who the victim was/were. from his wiki page fwiw " The relationship involved numerous incidents of Davis' domestic violence towards Taylor. He later wrote, "Every time I hit her, I felt bad because a lot of it really wasn't her fault but had to do with me being temperamental and jealous."[118][119][120] One reason for his behavior was that in 1963 he had increased his use of alcohol and cocaine to reduce joint pain caused by sickle cell anemia" referencing abuse of Frances Taylor. and then, same source " in 2013, The A.V. Club published an article titled "Miles Davis beat his wives and made beautiful music,"[249] In the article, writer Sonia Saraiya praises Davis as a musician, but criticizes him as a person, in particular, his abuse of his wives.[249] Others, such as Francis Davis, have criticized his treatment of women, describing it as "contemptible".[231] " No explicit reference to Cicely Tyson as a victim of such behaviour.

I made the Jazz Messenger order without even thinking about the situation, almost from habit. Worked out well for me. -
The Sound of London 2020

I watched that stream and it was red hot. A great tribute to the unstinting work of Gary Crosby and his Tomorrow's Warriors project. He's responsible for so many of the current crop learning their craft. It's been, and still is, an exciting few years as a Jazz fan in the UK and specifically London. What I particularly like is how many of this generation have looked to the musical heritage of their parents and grandparents. In a way that London music has always been infused with the musics of its immigrant populations this lot have done so with Jazz to great effect. There have been rumblings from the "Jazz Police" that some of it isn't Jazzy enough or is too popular. As far as I'm concerned they're are just missing the point. And finally, The Blue Moment is a great source of fine music writing across a number of genres -

I'm a big Lloyd fan and usually pick up new releases. I think this is intriguing and can't wait to hear it. -

Sorry that was probably my fault for posting the same thing in both threads. Although it was relevant to both Just adds to sense of confusion and despair! -
Brits planning to buy from JazzMessengers?
mjazzg replied to BillF's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I'm also confused and it happened to me! I suspect that duties were chargeable on entry but that the package slipped through. There's always been that "will it, won't it" jeopardy to ordering from outside the EU and I suspect the same will now happen from within. -

No, just list price and shipping They deducted it from the list price at Checkout. It was only one CD so maybe it flew in under several radars -

One of my saved Ebay sellers in Italy has already added a "+20% VAT" to all their auction listings, I'm assuming for the "benefit" of UK buyers -

Great album. If it had been a BN it would be so much better known.

Another nice issue from Oto https://www.cafeoto.co.uk/shop/somegoodnews/ You will need to like your vocals improvised but then I think Elaine Mitchener can do little wrong

They are releasing albums by younger Jazz musicians that aren't neo-soul/Jazz fusion. Joel Ross and Immanuel Wilkins are two examples. So they're releasing new albums by elder statesmen, new albums by up and coming players and branching out into genres with a connection to Jazz that are popular with a wider market. This alongside mining their back catalogue to meet a new demand in format and demographic. Given the current market for music I'm not sure what else they should be doing.
