  1. Seems to have been able to get a test when frontline NHS staff can't. 1649.
  2. Holland, Cowell and Bartz. All great recordings. Nice choices. I didn't realise 'Illusion Suite' was oop. Always been a vinyl listen for me.
  3. The discrepancy between government reassurances of the availability of PPE and the testimony of frontline staff is stark and seemingly increasing. I know who I tend to believe.
  4. Which is what happens when you appeal to people's better nature rather than tell them. You can't be everyone's best mate in an international emergency.
  5. I'm kind of hoping that's the case
  6. Cafe Oto in London if your tastes are for the out reached of the genre I had the same from New Year until a couple of weeks ago. Worse cough I've ever had, significant shortness of breath. Remember feeling very unwell at its peak but not sure I had the Covid temperature. Scan showed likely pneumonia but I do wonder. Follow up x-ray this week if they're still doing them.
  7. Mine's doing deliveries of beer and pizza https://www.thegoodnessbrew.co/
  8. The top two are great. The bottom two look interesting. I'm really enjoying the first play of this at the moment
  9. Beautifully sunny Spring day in London requires some summery vibes
  10. Yes of course, 'Song of Solomon'
  11. Hilary Mantel - The Mirror and the Light Don't let it deter you from trying another at some point. Maybe 'Sula', 'The Bluest Eye' or 'Beloved'
  12. And it's a fabulous album
  13. Currently listening to a great trio performance by Hannah Marshall, Alex Hawkins & Mat Wright - live stream from Cafe Oto Tomorrow's is a duo John Edwards & Steve Noble, just for you Steve Reynolds
  14. I work for a charity supporting older people, we have received hundreds of offers of help. Sadly, we have also been advised by the police of the first instances of doorstep scammers targeting the old. F###### scum.
  15. Cafe Oto are live streaming. Evan Parker Trance Map tomorrow. Tune in. And don't forget to donate.
  16. London lockdown now officially dismissed as rumour which won't be great when they really have to do it in a few weeks time. Local supermarket shelves stripped bare at 7.30 this morning. Madness
  17. Must be horrible to be so close to. Officialdom here saying we are two to three weeks behind you, London especially. We may be able to mitigate some of the word ramifications by being able to learn from Italy's experience. Stay safe porcy62
  18. I like a bit of wild!
  19. So now I'm looking at Masters Of Unorthodox Jazz 'Overground' from 2013 on Discogs
  20. Now having listened to the one track I am definitely in for this. Not overly free CT, this one track reminds me of NYAQ (with a pianist and no bass...) on very quick acquaintance. Want to hear more
  21. Thanks. I don't know what the rules are. A PM with the link maybe? Or just your description, I'm intrigued.
  22. John Stevens Folkus - Life Of Riley [Affinity] Think this definitely qualifies as an overlooked gem of a record. Basil Kirchin - Everyday Madness [Trunk Records] a title for our times. Two tape pieces and a very nice Jazz suite. Recommended.
  23. None of the musicians mean anything to me. What are we likely to hear? Any clues?
  24. The Shabaka is really impressive, a definite development from the first which was pretty good itself.
