  1. Is Ross on that? I missed that if so
  2. I was hoping you'd have that or some other contact details as you seemed the most likely. Maybe someone else?
  3. Agree about the others, I have them all. This one is definitely less written. He's playing London soon, but without Wilkins, I may try and go
  4. My early listens suggest it's good
  5. So I'm listening to "10 Years Hence" and realising that despite having a pretty exhaustive collection of Yusef in the 50s and 60s this is the only one I have from the 70s. There's a good number available, mostly produced by Joel Dorn and mostly giving Lateef larger bands to play with including vocal groups and orchestra on 'Suite 16' I'm interested to hear what folk make of the releases in this decade, all on Atlantic or CTI. Which ones are worth attention?
  6. Yusef Lateef - 10 Years Hence [Atlantic 1975] mentioned recently in another thread so thought it was time to give it a spin
  7. New name to me, I'll have a listen
  8. Me too. Saw Green On Red several times in London, always a great show And for me too, and a truly marvellous album it is too Poetic Champions and Enlightenment were ok but slim pickings from then on I'm afraid, the lyrics became uninspired and often cantankerous and the music became more and more run of the mill. A few highlights here and there.
  9. Keeffe is great, she has another leader date on Discus, released before this one featuring a range of group sizes
  10. Keith Jarrett & Jan Garbarek with the strings of Südfunk Symphony Orchestra, Stuttgart - Luminescence [ECM]
  11. Thanks, I'll try and remember. I usually wait for the CDs to arrive rather than listen to the download so may be a week or so
  12. A lot of music by someone I don't know, Manuel Zurria https://ants4.bandcamp.com/album/fame-di-vento It was a recommendation from a trusted source on X and I do nearly always love new and contemporary music composed for flute
  13. That's the edition I have, you'll not be disappointed I'm sure. Good find
  14. Completely agree on all points
  15. That's been on my want list for a long time
  16. Good to hear they're still going. Has Le-Le been in CD, it did just get an LP reissue recently
  17. 🤣 Absolutely, especially these days. Still love all his early-mid period though, before it got a bit cantankerous
  18. Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra - The Thompson Fields taken me too long to finally get this. Ended up buying the download as the CD price is steep. Prompted by this article in the Guardian today https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/feb/15/jazz-composer-maria-schneider-david-bowie-cracked-me-maybe-not-in-a-good-way
  19. Count me in for this one
  20. Dug both LPs out for a spin today prompted by your posts, such great music
  21. Surely the impact for those offended by the trigger is not as great as the impact on those people of colour who are impacted by the racist language? The trigger's an irritant for some, the racist language a lot more than that for those affected
  22. Thanks, 6 CDs does sound more in my ballpark too. I also agree about including radio announcements, annoying to me in most cases
  23. Thanks. I've just been chatting with a friend who has it. I may have to borrow it, 14 CDs seems a bit too much of a deep dive straight off
  24. Oh Yes!!! Now streaming I don't know why (although I did have them down as an electric Miles tribute act) but I have completely ignored Nucleus until recently when I bought 'Labyrinth' mostly because Norma Winstone's on it. Now investigating them chronologically, this is very good isn't it? Sounds not unlike the Graham Collier albums of this time that I love so much.
  25. But 46 regulars at $40pa doesn't seem beyond hope? I'd be happy to commit to that
