  1. Getting my labels mixed up here. Looks like this is on seriE Woc, an Italian label, not that that's making it any cheaper at £72 shipped!

  4. plus $29.92 shipping to UK, ouch! They did a very good job on their previous Jamal reissue, will have to hope a few of the 500 make it over here
  5. I don't know this, should I? I'm intrigued by the EP reference
  6. Fair enough, I missed that bit. Better for everyone especially as it's available on streaming platforms too
  7. Overpriced vinyl only editions of live material already released caused outrage in the 'Mingus Takes Manhattan' thread, even when the sound quality was noticeably improved. I guess because this is not bootleg made official it's considered differently, more worthy less of a rip off. Or is it just the BN name... Still, pleased that this is being released Edit to add: I now realise it's getting CD release too so you can ignore this post. I'll not delete as it'll make a nonsense of @jazzbo's response below
  8. Having been blown away by Botofasina, Mercereau and Niño live I can imagine how good this might have been. I like the Andre album, it's a bit long, but glad it was made and good to see him leap some genre boundaries
  9. The relevant Bandcamp page says Concord Music Group so I guess that's where the money goes, no different to other formats it's been released on.
  10. Charles Mingus - Pithecanthropus Erectus [Atlantic, France 1960]
  11. That was a tough listen, I thought. Not unimpressive but a lot to process. Seemed to figure high in a lot of end of year charts I should revisit it.
  12. I love that set Never heard of it, checking for it now. It's not too often recordings live up their reputation I find. “This was my attempt to link the tradition of Duke Ellington to James Brown.” - LYLE
  13. Sergio Armaroli & Evan Parker - Dialog [Hat Hut Ezz-thetics]
  14. I'm pretty sure she's Portuguese. She's very good wherever she was born
  15. Yes but the median price is £30.80 and highest paid is £55 which gives a more realistic indication of current market value. I paid £40 for it a couple of years ago In London?
  16. Yes, very nice album. I must listen to it again sometime
  17. I've been very close to buying that this week. I have some doubts about the sound quality, as previous releases of the material have had poor sq, but that video helps to allay them. Anyone got it already? And yes I do realise that as an LP only release many won't be looking to
  18. Bought a Bill Lowe and a Butcher, Lehn, Tilbury. Some contrast
  19. Various - The Winners Pori Jazz Festival Composition Contest [Odeon/EMI, Finland 1973] Compositions played by group including Aaltonen, Vesala, Sarmanto ao
  20. Vijay Iyer Trio - Compassion [ECM, Germany 2023]
