i have a question: what is the difference between the original "celebrating the bird" the charlie parker documentary from 1987 with a running time of 59 minutes and the "new" re-release of the film with a running time of 97 minutes? i have the original version on vhs and wonder what is the "bonus" material in the new dvd. (must be 38 minutes of more material). can anyone help what might be the extras? thanks in advance! keep boppin´ marcel

in leonard feather´s own book: "the jazz years, earwitness to an era" (new york, 1987) is on page 302 under honours and awards this entry: "1971 nominated for emmy award for producing "the jazz show", a series seen on knbc, los angeles". so is "knbc" another broadcasting company than "nbc"? nothing more in his book about this tv-show.
