medjuck, if you are in lisbon, and you like second hand records shops (jazz messengers don´t have second hand records in the shop, only expensive new vinyl pressings) here are two second hand record shops that have a lot of jazz (and other styles of music): mau genio discotheca - Estrada de Benfica, 731A, Shopping Center Nevada, Loja 9, 1500-089 Lisboa https://www.maugenio.com/ and carbono - Rua do Telhal, nº6 B, 1150-346 Lisboa http://www.carbono.com.pt/ (closed to holidays until september 30.) enjoy lisboa!! (and don´t get tram number 28, it´s often very crowded - take number 12) 😉

Charlie Parker- The Complete Birdland Recordings
bichos replied to cho's topic in Mosaic and other box sets...
without knowing the recording you´ve mentioned, i think, it is this : https://www.plosin.com/milesahead/BirdSessions.aspx?s=500700 the late phil schaap in his daily bird flight wkcr ny shows played it years ago and in one of his typical theories gave the following information about this piece: 1950 summer or july -- is not! maybe birdland -- maybe may 1953(?) -- maybe john lewis, p, maybe ray brown, b, but shure kenny clarke, dr. all other discographies have bernie leighton, ray brown and buddy rich as musicians. keep boppin´ marcel -
here are two more tracks by the wonderful gordons that are not in the discographies: https://archive.org/details/78_st-louis-blues_the-gordons-handy-teddy-brannon_gbia0393668a https://archive.org/details/78_swanee-river_the-gordons-s-foster-teddy-brannon_gbia0393668b who are the soloists? sounds the same like the session from february 1954 that produced the single track "babs" for columbia. but this is for okeh. (isn´t columbia the mother label from okeh)? discogs has different labels: https://www.discogs.com/de/release/14917639-The-Gordons-St-Louis-Blues-Swanee-River keep boppin´ marcel

i think it Comes from a Radio Show called "lyon´s busy" with Jimmy Lyons. i found one from 12.12.1949 with the Dave Brubeck trio playing various rhthms with "crazy rhythm", "fascinating rhythm" (vocal by Barbara ritchie again), after the Commercial a Little bit of "Lover" and than variations of "how high the moon". unfortunately only part 1 here: https://www.otrr.org/OTRRLibrary/otrrlibrary.html?idp=12802 Keep boppin´ marcel
