  1. Not a "store", but I think Jazz Loft is going out of business. Probably because of some of the reasons mentioned above.
  2. Great personnel. I always get nervous when I see "narrator".
  3. The Marshmallow is tempting but quite brief.
  4. apols for not noting "live" recordings. Rollins is with CB on Brownie Lives! on a well known Spanish label. No links allowed but sound is good enough and performance is excellent IIRC. This is the dates at Basin Street and Carnegie Hall, brilliant found it on CD. Basin Street is great - but not "live".
  5. No stores here - I do buy some from Squidco (which is a store I believe) online.
  6. I'm surprised that nobody seems to care. I do. I have the CD & am enjoying it.
  7. Breaking Bad - season 2
  8. The 3Dom Factor on Tum is darn good. I believe you should give MOPDTK a try. But - then I may be the only one.
  9. I guess I'm the only one that likes MOPDTK. So be it.
  10. Well - I do like the MOPDTK!!
  11. 2010 Esprit De Beaucastel (Tablas Creek) with a buffalo rib-eye steak.
  12. That IPO CD mentioned (twice) above is very nice. R.I.P.
  13. I liked most of his music. I remember when he "inducted" Leonard Cohen into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. Leonard will be 80 in 2014 & Lou's gone. R.I.P.
  14. Jhumpa Lahiri: The Lowland
  15. And the Louis Smith too!!
  16. Jefferson Airplane: Surrealistic Pillow Fairport Convention: Unhalfbricking Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Leonard Cohen - several by each, can't pick just one
  17. Moondance is a favorite of mine - but I doubt that I'll buy this.
  18. I don't know about wishing she would play with more subtlety but i get what you mean, and i definitely reached a saturation point. I had this to say earlier in the thread: I think it's fair to say that she currently has one of the most distinctive and instantly recogniseable sounds on the planet. It's kind of a double edged sword for me as a listener. It's a weird thing, as i do consider myself to be a big fan of hers, and her leader dates have been must haves for me. On a long enough time line a hugely distinctive sound can be in danger of coming off as self parody, although that will always be in the ear of the behearer... Expanding on what mjazzg said about Illusionary Sea, i think she is a bit more subtle on the new record, feels a bit less in your face, certainly compared to Saturn Sings (i noticed this progression on Bending Bridges too, sounded a bit less self conscious although i know i'm projecting like crazy here). I've been looking out for the latest drop from clean feed... weirdly slightly relieved, budget wise, that there's no 'must haves' (for me) there. 287 looks interesting.
  19. Agreed. I know, I know - but Leroy Vinnegar & Shelly Manne ain't bad.
