As I said in the first post in this thread in 2004, I have this CD & like it.
The other 5 tunes are:
Bossa NoNo (Med Flory)
Trentino (Pepper Adams)
Body & Soul
BeBop Love Song (Bill Holman)
Embraceable You
I just obtained The Way It Was mainly for the tracks with Marsh.
The rest is nice too.
Art's widow, Laurie, continues to release previously unheard (by most) material.
That makes me sad, a player that I will TRULY miss being able to watch play the game.
He finished with a nice season, unlike Marino, Kelly, Montana and others.
Absolutely.
I heard that he might / would have stayed if Green Bay had signed Moss.
George Pelecanos, one of my favorite "crime" writers, has been heavily involved with the series, & I believe wrote the screenplay for the episode we've just been talking about.
Jonny King: Notes From The Underground (Joshua Redman, Steve Nelson, Peter Washington, Billy Drummond)
Enja 9067-2
Recorded 1995.
Liner notes by Bob Blumenthal.
Not a bad CD IMHO.
I wondered what had happened to him.
I don't think I'll be as erudite as some of the previous posters.
Suffice it to say, I like Hamilton.
I've been impressed by what I've heard on the Venus CDs with Eddie Higgins.
I also enjoy his collaborations with Harry Allen & Alan Barnes.
Many of his early Concords also hold up for me.
This may be "goofy", but I have a feeling that if you pay for something you may try harder to "like" it.
If it's free, it might be easier to "dispose" of.
