  1. Are the volumes available individually anyplace??
  2. Let us know how it is. I'm really curious about this. 78+ minutes. Nice packaging & notes. Sound quality variable. Acceptable unless you require "audiophile" quality. Music very nice, not earth shattering. I got it mainly because of the addition to Twardzik's discography & was not disappointed in that regard. In addition it was just $11.99 at Dusty Groove. Hope that helps.
  3. Just received an e-mail from Berkeley Hills Books in response to my inquiry. It states that due to "circumstances beyond our control" the book has been "long delayed". They project having it in stores "in about three months".
  4. Francine Prose: Caravaggio
  5. 1.)Maggie's Farm Studios, Nov. 18 &19, 2004 2.)Matt Balitsaris 3.)Mastered byMichael MacDonald at Algo Rhythms, NYC, Mixed by Matt Balitsaris 4.)Susan Bee: Sojourner's Truth
  6. Well - I took a "shot" & ordered it.
  7. My copy, also from CD Universe, is fine too.
  8. You are correct. Get it soon.
  9. And promo. blurbs by Greil Marcus & Francine Prose. Excellent read. Wonder why it didn't get promoted more on release. Probably because of the niche market for the subject material.
  10. 400 Saturdays is very cool. Will you release more of those sessions? Not tenor, but are you going to release any C Sharpe material?
  11. Winchester: Krakatoa For our book club. Kind of a "slog" for me.
  12. My copy finally showed up. Looking forward to reading it soon.

    Ingrid Jensen

I like Ingrid Jensen too. At Sea is on my "short" list.
  14. Well - this thread certainly turned "interesting". I've always liked Dexter's albums, especially the ones on Blue Note. I also got to hear (not just see) him live several times. On those occasions both he & his playing were quite engaging.
  15. Our mailmen aren't racist, they're just useless. Sorry to harp on this, but mail service around here is terrible. UPS says my Miles set will be here on the 27th. It'll be here on the 27th. On the other hand, when my "First Class" order from DG shipped on Dec. 14 will arrive remains to be seen.
  16. Mine is coming via UPS. UPS is much more reliable in this area than the USPS. For example I am waiting for a package shipped 1st Class via USPS on 12 / 14 from Dusty Groove. It's still not here. Dusty Groove says wait until the end of next week. If it's still not here they'll replace it. In addition Media Mail is the worst method of all time. It sometimes takes 3 weeks for books, CDs, etc. to arrive if that is what the shipper uses.
  17. Afrika Rising is the one I like best.
  18. Parker plays in much more "avant" settings, of course, but I just get a tone or timbre or "sound" that makes me think of Ware when I hear Parker (esp. in quartet CDs like Sound Unity).
  19. Frank can still play. See him in Taos whenever I can.
  20. I love Griffin & this CD. Anybody else think that William Parker is influenced by Ware??
  21. Yes - the Bucks. Bucks 109 Spurs 107 Bogut at the buzzer in overtime!
  22. My copy hasn't arrived yet either. I've seen Media Mail take 3 weeks!!
  23. From Hiroshi: Great Jazz Trio: Speak Low Hank Jones: My Funny Valentine
  24. You just like the cover shot. What I like are Rouse & Adams on this date.
