  1. seconded but with some more love for Shorter in Whether Retorts, Typical hype on Bradford's part: making it weaker by saying it stronger. He trumped himself. Lowe's position is almost as silly.
  2. Regret not gettin' 109 when I could've.
  3. not sure there is vinyl for this, unlike the Lost Grooves on BN...
  4. There is some 78rpm & 10" era stuff I don't got yet, but I'd rather have cheap CDs of that.
  5. Bought Contours @ my local bricks 'n mortar, flat clean quiet plays and looks great. $35 is a lot to me but it was worth it in this case for something I only had on a homemade K7. Might by Chant by Donald Byrd, maybe Joe Hen vol 2...but everything else in this series and the cheaper one I- if I'm at all interested I already have some kinda copy and I'm not paying that kind of $ for 'upgrades'.
  6. Paul Harvey v. Ken Nordine, good listening! https://www.forbes.com/sites/joevogel/2019/01/29/what-you-should-know-about-the-new-michael-jackson-documentary/?fbclid=IwAR0aE35pxK9V7WoJT1t2l6IjOvRve6DRnL2Ch_0eCXQR7fbaR3VBcpKCqlo#41dd806f640f not connected!
  7. I'm good with my rainbow series Etc., but I will be getting the Rivers and Byrd. 2nd side of Etc. is sublime.
  8. Gitler liked wordplay, quotation is musical equivalent of wordplay. How is that h ard to understand?
  9. I have all of this, so I won't be ordering. The thought occurred to me that if this turns out to be Mosaic's last, then they'll be doing something they really love. I can only assume that it occurred to them too.
  10. This. His ability to describe situations and human responses to them in the abstract made him like a less twisted Kafka.
  11. I own a '62 Lark, and there's no connection to Chrysler (as the comments point out).
  12. Very funny I should see this right after reading through 15+ pages on Cream on the Hoffman Forum!
  13. RIP & Has anyone heard this one? https://www.amazon.com/Reggie-Young-Forever/dp/B072BC6LHK/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1549068332&sr=1-2&keywords=reggie+young
  14. True, IIRC it was a little more subdued...
  15. Saw him with Jeff Lorber when they were still locals....he was less annoying then but I'm not sure if it was 'cause he also played tenor then or the locality.
  16. That's a good one, the instrumentation alone avoids too direct a comparison to Monk's recordings of the tunes. One of the great bands, IMHO. Has anyone here heard the guitarist Kelvin Bell's own Kelvinator stuff?
  17. Where is that 'all is forgiven, I really like you' emoticon when you need it. Rufus, whom I met once, was an interesting guy.
