  1. Klemmer ,John – Nexus For Duo and Trio (2 LP) promo cutout $4 A magnificent, overlooked album. Only half of it was reissued on cd.
  2. Out of my wife's 8 positive relatives, 4 were vaccinated, 4 weren't.
  3. Eight[!!!] members of my wife's family tested positive after the New Year's party.
  4. The most memorable night I had at the Knit was in 2002 - Dr. Art Davis Dick Griffin James Carter Dave Burrell Cecil Brooks Candido (!!!!) It was an amazing night! They played a 30 minute long version of Africa, and Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze.
  5. We must've crossed paths! This was ca.2000-2002. They used to play in the old Jazz Gallery on Hudson St., if my memory is not fooling me. It was a very good band!
  6. I shamefully admit that that I do not have this album. Time and again I hear that it's one of the best.
  7. I read that he was ill, but I didn't know he died. I was just playing his THE VISIT! , later known as the FOOTPRINTS album, and it's very-very good. I'm not a guitar aficionado, but how often do we see a jazz guitar album, which includes a rhythm guitarist AND the bassist?
  8. Pat Martino - THE VISIT! A stellar record. With these side-men, it better be!
  9. Not good. Last September Norm Macdonald died. They were friends for decades. Two very talented comedians. https://deadline.com/2021/09/bob-saget-norm-macdonald-video-tribute-roast-1234838094/ Laugh in peace!
  10. Phenomenal! I won't ask any more. Looking forward to reading/listening to your completed project!
  11. Sorry to hear that. What Jim said. Where and from whom did he learn percussion?
  12. George Semper - MAKIN' WAVES
  13. Closet ice hockey player, possibly. I visited Hanover, the home of Dartmouth, in early January 2004, with my wife; we were contemplating moving there; it was a very good opportunity for my trade. The town was truly a serene winter place; kids playing hockey on a frozen pond, neat houses in town, smoking chimneys, very pretty…and very cold. My wife was adamant about not living with that long a winter. Had we moved, I could’ve been retired by now. Lucky was lucky to have lived there for a time.
  14. He was a Dane, I think. Anyone interested in 20th c. European history, knows that until 1944 Iceland was under the Danish rule. I will ask Lew Tabackin when I’ll see him. I believe Chris and him were very good friends.
  15. Wasn't him. I was at his apartment once. It had "some" records, but not a lot. He lived in a pre-war apartment building on Central Park West. Those buildings don't just collapse, even under the weight of billions of dollars housed in them. But just to let your imaginations run wild - was he an heir to the Albertson's Supermarkets fortune?
  16. I'm digging this 2021 release from the Pakistani fusion band, produced by a Polish keyboardist, recorded in Norway. https://www.jaubimusic.com/music
  17. This is a masterpiece. One of the most overlooked records of all time, in my opinion. It must have been a big hit when it came out in 1960. Nice record, by Coltrane's shadow.
  18. The Black and Crazy Blues
