ive got quite a lot of Oscar Peterson cds and lps. Will spin some of them to decide if I want to keep them or sell. This one’s definitely a keeper. The trio with Brown and Thigpen was a lovely group
Excellent. I got the both the Abdullah Ibrahim and Cookers on vinyl and they sound great. The Tolliver cd also sounds very good. Quality stuff for mostly pretty reasonable prices.
Glad she’s okay. I have to say that to me, as a high school teacher, it’s just unimaginable that there are security gates at my work place. I’m happy you can smoke some weed here but can’t wear a gun. I am pretty sure the last one kills more. Maybe I did make it political now. Sorry if I have.
with Ahmed Abdullah, Billy Bang, Marion Brown, Sirone, Fred Hopkins and Andrew Cyrille. Must say it‘s not as great as expected seeing those names but it’s still a very solid session.
Nice to listen once in a while but I prefer the trio with Thigpen. These LP’s are the oldest in my collection (end of the 1950’s) and I like that idea.
You have to be lucky with these Rainbo pressings. This one sounds pretty… Solid!
Thanks I’ve got that one on my radar. My copy is a Dutch mono from the 60’s. My Dutch mono of MJQ’s Fontessa also sound pretty bad…. Might be coincidence
one of his lesser efforts for MPS imo
now that’s a TP candidate. This Fontana reissue sounds awful…. Lots of background noise and the piano far in the background. I wonder: is it the recording or the pressing? The vinyl looks very clean but doesn’t sound that way.
