  7. Another absolutely superb Mariano, and to my ears, very similar to "Deep in a Dream" is "Autumn Dreams" (Alfa Jazz 1991), with Mal Waldron trio which was just been reissued by "Pony Canyon" label. tracks are: Floating Cherry Blossoms; Greensleeves; Cry Me A River; Early Autumn; Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise; Autumn Dreams; Randy; Autumn Leaves; 'Til Autumn; The Thrill Is Gone.
  8. A friend of mine is suppose to interview the pianist slava Ganelin. I'm hoping to collect many fascinating questions for this interview, plus any suggestions for research sources into Galenin's work. Thanks! Barak
  9. Wynton Kelly - The perfect pianist - as a soloist , especially with Mr. PC and Jimmy Cobb; as a leader of Miles' Rhythm, section for many years; as the pianist of Dizzy's big band; as an accompanist to Dinah Washington. His recordings as a sideman are numerous. For me, his participation in a recording is a stamp of quality. I can't recall any off date by mr. kelly. So, happy birthday, Wynton Kelly! What are your favorite recoedings with mr. kelly?

  11. Israel's greatest leader ever, and one of the greatest leaders in the 20th century, died 30 years ago today. Today, we can only wish for leaders of his kind: Ones that are able to make difficult decisions in crucial times; Ones that can be leaders to their countries, not just politicians; Ones that has their country's future on their mind, not just the next election; Ones that will enjoy reading phoilosophy books and the Bible whenever there's a few minutes time; Ones that will live a humble life; And even ones that will be able to spend a few days in a Burmese tempel to "clear his mind"; Oh, I do miss Ben Gurion and his type ~sigh~
  12. Please - No more new recordings of I remember Clifford!
  13. Actually, coffee drinking was one of the hardest things for me to get used to while in DC. And I'm not talking 'bout that muddy fluid you call "American coffee", but rather the American espressos and Capucinos. Israel is a haven for Espesso Bars, and the espresso and capucino culture is very wide spread. To the Israeli palate - the best taste is the Italian-style coffe, with manufacturers such as Illy, Segafredo et al. For that reason I took me a loooooong time for me to get used to the "soury" taste the espressos and capucinos at coffee places such as Starbucks et al. BTW, Starbucks, who succeeds in almost every place it opens a branch - was forceds to close all its branches in Israel less than 2 years after it openned them. Simply put - the Coffee was not to the liking of the Israelis.
  14. -->> Click Here <<-- I wanted to buy a copula hats to my cats, but they don't deliver to Israel...

  20. Happy birthday, my friend!
  21. Well, it's been a well known fact for thousands of years that Jerusalem IS the center of the world. Check out old charts and see. Anyways, I donate my humble place for the get-together. However, to quote some great ones: "You can check out any time you like But you can never leave..."
