  1. Bass frequencies appear omnidirectional to our ears, so it wouldn't really matter where you put them.
  2. Funny, because I've heard from a lot of people that track 3 is their favorite. To each his own! There is something for everyone on the disc.
  3. If you don't see it by tomorrow, let me know.
  4. I fucked up and sent them out too early. Might as well play them.
  5. Maybe it's not your computer, maybe it's the site. Have you tried accessing it on another computer?
  6. Not to nitpick, but you didn't really soundproof anything. What you did is acoustically treat your room to minimize certain frequency dependent reflections, which would clear up your imaging, phasing, and sound stage. Basically, you made some mid-band acoustic absorbers, like they have in recording studios.
  7. What about Climax, MI? "Climax is twinned with Intercourse, Pennsylvania, a town of about 1000 in Lancaster County in south-eastern portion of Pennsylvania in a sister city exchange programme establshed during the early 1970s." No, you can't make this stuff up.
  8. Great news, Bruce! I'm very happy for you!
  9. Awesome! Congratulations and many happy wishes for the future!
  10. Sweet! Mix that baby and put it out there!
  11. Happy Birthday to my Hammond brother from another mother!
  12. I am proud to say I have no idea who either of those guys are.
  13. I was listening more intently last night and I think most of the sound is Phil's kit (he was using an old-school Gretsch at the time, same as Art Blakey) and of course the way he plays it. But I'm still curious about how it was mic'd up. It sounds really natural and balanced.
  14. Just a quick note to inform that organissimo's third disc, Groovadelphia, is now available from iTunes, CDBaby.com, Amazon.com and of course our own shop, the Big O Store. The big radio push begins next week. Here are the links: iTunes - only $8.91?! That's a bargain for me! CDBaby - $14.97, but you get the real artwork to hold in your hands! Amazon - $15.00, order from "organissimo_direct" (that's me) Big O Store - $15, but all of it (sans Paypal fee) goes to us! If you already have a copy, thanks so much for the support. Please consider writing a short review on CDBaby.com and/or iTunes. Thanks!
  15. I would just like to say that the drum sound on Selling England By The Pound by Genesis is frickin' awesome. It's a great album anyway, but the drums are recorded beautifully on that record. That's a golden plateau for drum sounds, as far as I'm concerned.
  16. The best thing to do is just report it. If I'm not around, one of the moderators will delete the topics. When I get back to the board, I delete the membership.
  17. Christ almighty, people. STOP POSTING THIS! There is a thread already.
  18. It's also nice for his uncle because I'm sure he gets some good royalty checks!
  19. We were talking about that yesterday; may be a possibility. Thanks for the article on David Baker. Very nice.
  20. Why aren't blues musicians ever sued? They use the same riffs, chords, melodies, and even full phrases from past tunes (lyrics and all) all the time. What about quoting a famous melody in a solo over changes?
  21. Yes of course, Ampex is what I meant. That's what I get for posting after being at the studio all day.
  22. Funny stuff. Congrats on the reviews, but most of them are so concerned with where the music "fits", it's laughable. Here's an idea; why not take the music as it is and not worry about it?
  23. Like father, like son. My dad on the Hammond B3 circa 1979 or so.
