  1. That's the one. Go for it!
  2. Yeah man! I've got the disc they put out a couple of years ago with the Dr. It will be a funky good time, for sure.
  3. I've been talking with a guy at Sweetwater, and he's checked with every provider they know. Apparently there are no true flight cases (talking about a rectangular case with the metal edges) for even a 335 style guitar (similar to Scofield's), and mine is slightly different than that. So a custom job would entail them getting the precise measurements of my axe, then cutting out a molding to fit. Again, talking about $300 and 3 weeks. Jim suggested a case that was big enough to fit both my guitar and my current hardshell case into, which would be like a modified keyboard case. It would also be pretty big, and might also take more time than I have.
  4. I've been trying to purchase a flight case for my guitar, with no luck at all. It would have to be a custom job, and at this point there's not enough time to get that done from what I've been told (we fly out on the 20th). Not sure what to do.
  5. The Quartet tracks on the last disc were with Larry Grenadier & Jeff Ballard. I believe the new release was recorded at the same time as the last one. That's correct. Looking forward to seeing this band in April.
  6. You mean the innards? Yep, lots of wires and stuff.
  7. That Dino Saluzzi Group cover looks familiar...
  8. Just curious: does he take a particular political stance on this album?
  9. Some people paint, some do origami, and others.... Nice groove. Bassline reminded me of Changes, slightly.
  10. That will be incredible when you get it together.
  11. Nice to see you still around, Chris.
  12. That guy's playing is damned tasty! Kinda glad he's not around here; I might be out of a gig.
  13. Nathaniel Bartlett Attn: 7/4, Rod, anyone into modern music, computer music, and 8-channel sound. This guy puts on a fine performance.
  14. "Friends with Hammy?" "Blow the whole jig?" Now who's flirting, Mr. Double Entendre?
  15. Likewise, I was wondering why Randy was getting frisky after the Ravi Shankar concert.
  16. Please tell me this is a spoof.
  17. Nails on chalkboard never bothered me, but here's one that does: a maul or an ax that gets stuck in a log and is then jerked free -- that hideous reeeet sound! <shudder>
  18. All things considered, this was one of the best gig experiences I've been a part of. So inspiring to be in such a grand space surrounded not only by supportive and friendly people, but by several centuries worth of truly great artwork representing the best of human creativity and expression. Much gratitude to Ron, Leslie, and Amanda for sharing their home with us once again.

  20. Let's see how much sleep I get tonight and how I feel on Friday. I'd really like to go. It'd be great to finally meet you (and see if you really exist ). This is 7/4 we're talking about, not clementine.
  21. I saw this a few weeks ago, and highly recommend it. The performances with Frith were quite good. Search Evelyn Glennie on youtube; I think there may still be some clips from Touch the Sound. Haven't seen the Goldsworthy doc yet, but I love his work as well.
  22. Talk to Jim. And ask him to send some to me, too.
  23. Right now: composing, practicing, gigging again after our break, and considering our options on all the different aspects of recording, material, production, and yes, financing. We're looking towards maybe April as a possible recording timeframe, with a release following mid-summer. Keep your fingers crossed!

Wow. I've never read about all the dark experiences of the early days. Incredible.
