I remember a gritty surfy power trio version by 'The Dennison Kimball' group and some nice cello action from Chicago's '8 Bold Souls' (and I see you can go and grab that @ emusic). Still dig Zorn's bestest.

I put the sextet half of Dorham's "Afro Cuban" as an intro to this on a dupe disc - seeing they were recorded within a week of each other - for maximum enjoyment. Another classic in need of a reissue.

there is a cut on a TE sampler @ emusic. only listened to some snips, scotty hard's myspace page has three songs on it. a bit noodley as you might expect. sure would be swell if they got an imaginative and non redundant groove on. RRSmyspace

it'd be nice if the folks offering sales etc cleaned the house every now and then. delete threads that are defunct or out of date as that is the only forum where that is warranted and start a new one if you are offering again.

any commentary on those J.J. Johnson soundtracks like "Cleopatra Jones", "Willie Dynamite" etc... i've only heard some snips here and there but curious if it's more than just wah wah and hi hats.
