  1. I wound up with an extra copy of this one, with no receipt to return it (received as gift then threw away the packaging). Looks like Amazon wants $39, I will sell it for $30, postage paid. Or consider a trade. PM if interested and thanks for the interest!
  2. Interesting list, as always. Something for everyone. And some which seem better on paper, such as the Transition titles, the Dorham/McLean and the Booker Little. All subjective, of course! Even though it is late Byrd, I think Kofi is a very good one and perhaps not well known. Glad to see the Hutcherson titles, Taru and the Silver title, which may be my favorite of his.
  3. There is no business model where Bob B gets paid for the sale of liner notes as a stand-alone product, correct? So I am not sure how he is being harmed, unless you turn MusicBrainz into some sort of Spotify, in which case he would earn a pittance of a pittance. Agree in concept he “should” be paid and legally that is correct, but not sure how that works in the real world.
  4. Hey TTK, had no idea you were in town. Yes Green Lady is the bomb. Look forward to going with my son when he is in town for the holidays!
  5. OK, time to suspend 40 years of denial ... 🤪
  6. I guess I am a ridiculous jazz fan, but am totally drawn in by the cover and insert photos. The time trackings seem a little light, but ... pre-ordered based on the sound samples!
  7. Yes, you can pick between 4-5 records each month. They have had some nice jazz titles, but my tastes extend beyond jazz and I’ve never had a problem finding something interesting.
  8. I was deep into punk rock/new wave and what we now call classic rock, circa 1981. And then I heard this, courtesy of a guy I played sports with in high school. Game over 🤩
  9. FWIW & YMMV: 1. Evening 2. Vanguard 3. Montreal
  10. So far just spent time burning to my hard drive and examining the book. The book is really fantastic - large (not oversized), easy to read and full of pictures and comments from Laurie. Lots of discussion around Art's relationship with the band members and love for the guys, especially George Cables. The coolest part is photos of the tape boxes set beside Art's hand written notes for some of the tracks. Just listened to a few tracks - based on Art's comments. Scintillating - but then I am an Art freak 😍
  11. Actually, a very nice vinyl copy of "The Greeting" from Discogs which I have somehow missed 😁
  12. Thanks for posting - will check this out. Bought a cool coffee table book of his album covers a few years ago: Mati & The Music: 52 Record Covers 1955–2005 (English, Spanish and French Edition) https://a.co/d/2eJ67IY
  13. Hey everyone - long story, but would up with an extra copy of the CD - no case. Happy to send on to whoever wants - just PM me. I have plenty of mailers lying around, no need to reimburse, just want it to find a happy home! PM if interested. Thanks
  14. Thinking about this one, how do you like it?
  15. Yep, life is too short and the other list is too long. And, what, am I going to dig into the back catalog? 😁
  16. LOL, yes there is that. I put myself on a budget, spending a lot less than I used to, but enough to stay in the game 😊. Bought the Fathers and Sons record for less than $10, looking forward to it, especially the Freeman side. Check, yeah I live in KC but did not hear about that one. Like the Lied Center though!
