  1. Yes, probably my favorite Rollins era. That RCA box is wonderful and I return to those sessions often. I have to say that I previously slept on this time period until enlightened by board members here!
  2. Certainly he has received much critical acclaim. Based on that, I too bought several of his CDs. I am also older (62) but love and am open to all types of music. His music just doesn't engage with me.
  3. Looking forward to a fun game - another cold one and should be an epic AFL 😄 battle!
  4. Thank-you!! Love George - very unique sound!!
  5. I live in KC. Yes - very cold. Ticket prices have plummeted. Should be very interesting!!
  6. That is very cool!! I will have to keep that in mind when I make it back to Paris!
  7. I will play this today. Such a good record!! And I also love the French reissue cover photo posted above.
  8. Goodness, what amazing record store do you shop in? 😃
  9. Clear front runner, for sure. I certainly see fewer flaws and more strengths than any other team in the AFC.
  10. Ugh ...
  11. I think they outsource the "they" - at least maybe back to the conglomo in the background. Amazon = always cheap, incredibly speedy and transparent shipping. Super easy returns. Blue Note = don't bother unless you encounter an amazing sale and then, expect nothing remotely close to the Amazon experience. Don't even think about a return. So there are trade-offs. 😂
  12. Sadly, it is. In my experience they always deliver, but it can take forever. The trade-off associated with the super sales they run.
  13. Wikipedia saying she received an honorary doctorate from Berklee in 2020:
  14. Looks like he wrote two? One covering earlier periods of jazz. I saw those cheap, but the book in question here was $233. https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?sts=t&cm_sp=SearchF-_-home-_-Results&ref_=search_f_hp&tn=Modern jazz%3A The essential records %3A a critical selection
  15. $749.99 at amazom!
  16. I love that box and everything BJP. Fun to know he was a local guy (Kansas City), along with Charles Kynard. I tend to gravitate towards the later stuff, so deeply in the pocket to my ears. Also love it when some of his sax players go a little outside on those later Blue Notes. PS - would love to hear the unissued DIW session!
  17. Yep, I believe that is correct. Fun set!
  18. Forty years of listening to jazz and he is my favorite organist. Just listened to the delicious comp yesterday:
  19. I enjoy their Bandcamp page and buy albums from time to time. Pretty mainstream stuff, but sound samples make it easy to be choosey.
  20. Perhaps my all-time favorite. Not a second wasted:
  21. Thanks!
