Some of these seem to be from the Classic Series as well as Tone Pets. I guess I did not realize Kevin Gray did the classics as well. Either way, since no bonus tracks on the vinyl, none here to preserve the remastering chain I suppose.

👍 The four I listen to regularly: Volume 1 (Blue Note) Now’s The Time (RCA) Standard Sonny Rollins (RCA) Silver City (best of Milestone comp) I checked out the two RCA’s based on Mark Stryker’s list on the board. I have come to adore them. Same adoration for Volume 1. Also spend a lot of time with +3.

Yes, probably my favorite Rollins era. That RCA box is wonderful and I return to those sessions often. I have to say that I previously slept on this time period until enlightened by board members here!

Certainly he has received much critical acclaim. Based on that, I too bought several of his CDs. I am also older (62) but love and am open to all types of music. His music just doesn't engage with me.

I think they outsource the "they" - at least maybe back to the conglomo in the background. Amazon = always cheap, incredibly speedy and transparent shipping. Super easy returns. Blue Note = don't bother unless you encounter an amazing sale and then, expect nothing remotely close to the Amazon experience. Don't even think about a return. So there are trade-offs. 😂

Sadly, it is. In my experience they always deliver, but it can take forever. The trade-off associated with the super sales they run.
