Though Onyx is defunct their releases are fairly easily acquired and for less than say the Uptown releases I want but don’t have.

Onyx Records, I picked up their first issue, The Foremost, around 1975. In the fullness of time I’ve picked up most of the label’s output.

I think it’s been 10 years or so since I last put out a BFT. I hope to retire in March, can you put me down for June?

Joined 3/31/03. I don’t post much but I read a lot. I’ve met a couple of board members and have kept in touch with Pete B who doesn’t post much any more.

Here in RI looks like about 10 inches so far. Starting snowing around 9:00 am. The temp is up to 21 degrees from single digits this morning. The snow is very fluffy.

George Garzone and Dave Ballou played last night in Providence with RI Music Hall of Famers Marty Ballou and Marty Richards. Great show attended by maybe 35 people.

I really appreciate threads like this as most of the titles are beyond my usual listening, although I have and like both of the Chris Lightcap titles. I’m pretty sure most the stuff mentioned here would more outside than the Lightcap releases (would outside still be an appropriate descriptor?). I’ll give some of these a listen.

It’s a head scratcher, hard to believe Dallas couldn’t have gotten two starters and some picks for Luka. From what I read Doncic is less than fully engaged on conditioning, now he’ll have LeBron as a role model. As to how screwed Doncic is by missing a super max deal, I don’t think he needs to worry about money, the super max is worth a 5% bump.

Don’t know if this has any bearing but I believe the surname Xiques is pronounced hickus.

Good catch on the Sam Rivers song title, spell check let me down (of course it would since the word was capitalized). As to Purple People Eater, I was 2 when it was released but an aunt of mine had the 45 and I heard it a lot as a small child at her house.

Also, the blurb doesn’t mention Lucky Thompson, there oughta be a law.
