  1. My cd player has started making the occasional skip - they seem micro skips as it only move over about 2 seconds or so. Has anyone had success with opening the unit and cleaning the lens? Any suggestions welcome.
  2. ok, but clear this up for me. The red X means that the message has been deleted in another persons "mailbox" correct?
  3. I was visiting Boston this week and went to Fenway Park on Tuesday night. Guess who threw out the first pitch? Ken Burns!! And then on the screen on the scoreboard they showed a segment from his new baseball sequel called the "10th Inninng".
  4. Lon, Do you know if this concert will be available outside of the big box?
  5. They were playing the Tanglewood concert from the big box in J&R today. It sounded real good - torture.
  6. The upcoming vinyl reissue is supposed to be based on the Macero mix. Interesting, my Japanese Mastersound DSD edition is a year 2000 edition.
  7. have a good one Dan
  8. I saw the same gig on a different night. I agree with your comments. That trio is my favorite jazz group of the ones around today.
  9. If there is a red x to the left of a pm in one's Conversations (pms)- this means that the sender of the message has deleted it in his or her box, right? Of course I can still read it in my box, does it count towards my total?
  10. Tammy Wynette: Tragic Country Queen
  11. I am seeing the Paul Motian Trio at the Village Vanguard. Doesn't get much better than that.

    Joe Henderson

thanks everyone for your wonderful and illuminationg stories about Joe!!!
  13. I picked it up at J&R yesterday in Manhattan for $17.99 and watched the DVD only, it was great and not baffling in the least!!

    Joe Henderson

Thanks guys. Interesting JSangry that you mentioned Fat Tuesday's, that's where I saw him the most. It seems he did not come across to any of you as a particularly strong or defined personality, and difficult to read. On stage, he seemed rather monkish, eyes closed, unexpressive. And yet he made music entitled "Power to the People" and "If You are Not part of the solution, you are part of the problem" - rather political it would seem. And yet I never saw any sort of political comments associated with him. Do you agree - an enigma?

    Joe Henderson

I saw him perform probably about a dozen times and have read some articles and interviews and yet he seems among the most enigmatic personalities of the jazz musicicans whose music I have loved. In performance he never addressed the audience. I have little idea about what his personality was like and there are no books, etc. to help like you have with many of the jazz greats...wonder why. Did he like fast cars, boxing, women? I don't have a clue. Have I got this wrong?
  16. Thanks Sidewinder for posting that. I wish they had explained what they meant by "baffling" with regards to the DVD - does that mean bad?
  17. best wishes Lon
  18. Ghost and Patrick Loved that Carmona game against the Red Sox and hoping for the best for Santana.
  19. Sad news... best of luck to all three of you.
  20. That 9th inning was a gasser in general. Out of backup infielders, the Yanks put Marcus Thames at third base, resulting in the following hijinks: Thames at third base Not a bad stop, but that throw! Yeah Ghost, It seemed that no one was having more fun during that game than BOTH of the benches, all the players were cracking up watching Marte. So the Tribe should always put in rookies or position players to pitch against the Yanks.
  21. Well Dave, since I am an exiled Clevelander stuck in the belly of the beast - I have to listen to what the Yankees announcers say and they said the Yankees were having an off night, of course it couldn't possibly be that Josh Tomlin did one hell of a job last night. Love it when David beats Goliath. Go Tribe.
  22. Hope you had a Happy Birthday Bebop
  23. Sad news indeed.
  24. Hope you had a great one, Guy
  25. Were there "moderators" back then? I think it was just Jim and his brother. There was certainly no J.A.W. which is the biggest difference now. Hans is doing a good job keeping the board the way Jim wants it. Thanks Kevin, I wasn't sure about moderators then. My other point was that while perhaps it is good to have more information (even for a seller) - it does not seem fair if that info is not correct.
