  1. The interview with Ruby is a trip, very interesting, amusing and a little "R" rated at times, but a great companion to Chris's book. Mark
  2. I wonder how "free" that session will be with Dolly Parton . Mark
  3. Miles at the Chicago Jazz Festival (1990)
  4. I think it's amazing the cat could tell it was Coltrane after one note . Very smart cat!
  5. Make sure to check the books on abebooks.com closely as many of them in the $15.00-$20.00 range are the soft bound books, not hardback. The hardbacks seem to start at about $25.00, although they appear to have many copies. Mark
  6. Most of the major book stores (chains) don't carry the hard back book anymore, but if you go to the Barnes and Noble web site, they have a network of used/rare book dealers that have the hardback, ranging from $25.00 to $75.00. I've use this service on many hard to find/out of print books with great results. I already have this book but there are several on the site at this time! Mark
  7. I've used them several times without any problems. I'm in the same state as they are, maybe that's why I get them a little quicker ....but really, I haven't had any issues to date with them but it appears many have, too bad as they have decent prices! That said, I've had great service with CD Universe. Mark
  8. I'm good friends with Jim Neumann (founder of Bee Hive). I will see him this Friday and will discuss the CD thing with him. He did give me several of his LP's a while back, very good !!!
  9. Shame on you Jazz Groove , you should be ashamed of yourself
  10. Fathead: Ray Charles Present has been re-issued on CD. I picked up a copy of this Sunday when I went to see Fathead perform (Along with his new Highnote CD that's not in stores yet). The show was great with David is fine form; he played a tune by Bird, a couple off the new disc and several others. Mark
  11. David "HoneyBoy" Edwards!!!
  12. I would also agree this show is hilarious (sp), although my girlfriend doesn't think it that funny (she prefers "Sex and the City). Mark
  13. Conn, Who's we??? Don't you live in Ohio??? Aren't you a Browns or Bengal's fan???
  14. *Jazz Record Mart (freakin' fantastic ) *Dusty Groove Records (not a huge jazz selection, but always something I don't have) *Willie Dixon's Blues Foundation (cool) *Art Institute (1st class) *Jazz Showcase (Jazz, the best place in town to see the true legends). *Buddy Guys's Legends (Blues)

  16. I picked up the Thad Jones (Detroit New York Connection) and Mitchell's "Boss Horns" this weekend at Dusty Groove. They had several others, but I didn't need them (Tina Brooks, Freddie Redd I think and others). Mark
