  1. I never cared for Frank Miller's work.
  2. $2.45 here now. Will hit $2.50 real soon.
  3. Around here it's up to $2.40/gallon, and that's at the cheaper stations. Not for the first time, I wonder how high it has to go before people finally stop buying SUV's. I see lot's of Prius's and other hybrids around here, but there are no shortage of enormous SUV's and even the occasional Hummer.
  4. Great last name, too!
  5. Most-played LIFETIME album? Hard to say. When I was five I played the hell out of an Alvin and the Chipmunks single. Later I used to play Rubber Soul to death. At one time in college I would listen to Another Green World two or three times a day. At still another time I obsessed over There's A Riot Goin' On, and Kind of Blue of course....and let's not forget The Five Royals. How do you balance these off against each other over the period of your life up to now? I have no idea.
  6. Man alive, I would really like to hear that Julian Dash stuff!!
  7. Just FYI montq, this indeed a great session, but it's NOT part of the Mosaic. That's precisely why all and sundry should check it out! Great album.
  8. Who's wife? Michael Douglas's wife.
  9. "Pleasantly???????"
  10. He did his job. What did you expect him to do? Not be a dick.
  11. For me, learning another language is like mastering higher math---and I suck at math!
  12. Wow. Whatever happens, best of luck Jazzmoose.

    March 1st RVG

"Dial S..." is not one of Clark's more outstanding albums. At least, it always struck me that most of the compositions are relatively uninspired, and give me the impression that this is one record that he simply cranked out for a quick paycheck. Listening to it again recently has not caused me to change this opinion substantially. The first two tracks strike me as perfectly decent, but after that the rest of the album still registers a bit on the dull side, at least compared to his other work. So I can understand your reaction. All of which causes me to ask, for the thousandth time: When are they going to RVG Leapin' and Lopin'?
  14. All I know is, when I was a teenager (in the 70s) I don't recall the threat of guns in the schools even being conceivable, much less a problem. In the 90's, kids started shooting up their schools on a regular basis. Doesn't seem like a change for the better, to say the least.
  15. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It would be great to see that done RIGHT! Three Stigmata would be interesting, too. Hell, a majority of his novels and stories, would make for a strange, intriguing film if the director was faithful to the source material. So far they haven't tried that even once. I've read a lot of PKD, and I don't recall a single story of his that was mainly concerned with chases and explosions.
  16. If you are of an age when you were actually 'into' the Power Rangers, then you're still little in my book. I was thinking the same thing. Heck, I thought I was young because I remembered Lassie as a forest ranger's dog rather than belonging to Timmy and June Lockhart... Lassie was once a forest ranger's dog???
  17. Yeah, I heard that Hindu and Buddhist traditions used the swastika from way back. Too bad Hitler had to glom onto it and ruin it for everybody. It's also too bad that any teenage nutcase in this country can get ahold of a gun.
  18. Ouch! That rings true! (Also I once left a drink on the roof of my car.)
  19. Ain't that always the way?
  20. Looking at the picture of that turtle, I personally just don't see the satan image.

  24. I used to use abebooks quite a lot. They came through with a lot of good used books (mainly having to do with nostalgia in my case.)
