  1. Actually, she's supposed to be eight, two years younger than Bart, who is, always has been, and always will be, ten.
  2. I vote for this as well. I have four versions of the Cello Suites, and the Janos Starker is my favorite.
  3. So he's Thomas Berger-old. Interesting.

I really, really, really want this album!! Oh well.
  5. Twenty-year-old news, yes.
  6. We can at least be thankful that he had a long life. RIP
  7. Was that Bluesette Part 2 or something like that? If that's it, I've always preferred the first one myself. Yeah, something like that. Well, sure, if your getting only one, get the original, by all means. But the latterday one is quite enjoyable I think. Maybe, it's just the Curtis Fuller fan in me, but there you have it.
  8. I didn't watch it myself, but Letterman thought Paul lip-synched. Personally, I've never understood why football half-times have to be so damn long.
  9. Most assuredly a great album. What do people here think of the re-recording (from 1993 I believe)? I really like it a lot.
  10. Well, I liked it, flaws and all. A solid, traditional Hollywood movie. Aside from the swearing and blood, it could have been from the 40's or 50's, which is what I liked about it.
  11. A favorite of mine as well. All praise Don Siegel! Yes indeed! Notice the actors who appear in Varrick who also pop up in Dirty Harry---including Vernon, in a small role as the mayor of San Francisco!
  12. When you consider Jean Hagen's performance in Asphalt Jungle side-by-side with her performance in Singin' In the Rain.....well, all I can say is "Impressive!"
  13. It's NOT your imagination, that's her all right, looking and sounding much the same as she would on Batman a dozen or so years later.
  14. Frankly, this add kind of creeps me out. Rooster, seriously, you should rent Singin' In the Rain and watch the whole thing. One of the most purely fun movies I've ever seen!
  15. By coincidence, I recently watched one of my favorite 70's movies, Charley Varrick, yet again. Vernon was great in that. RIP
  16. WOW!!! All the best, Johnny! Great news!
  17. I remember that SPY article. It seems that where Lewis failed Roberto Bernini (sp?) has struck gold. In any case, that and The Oscar are a couple of movies that I wouldn't mind seeing out of a sense of morbid curiosity.
  18. By no means!! That was one of the great shows of the 70s.
  19. He died "six months shy of his 38th birthday." Man that's sad.
  20. What the hell.....?
  21. 1985---The complete Monk on Blue Note. I bought the first 10 or so Mosaic releases just on general principles. Those were the days.
  22. Slow Drag---Donald Byrd? Just off the top of my head; I'm sure there are worse.
  23. Already got mine on pre-order.
  24. That one's been in heavy rotation at my house for the last few months. Love it!
