  1. $332 is pretty good for brand new. For a significantly better price I suspect you have to go the refurbished route. FYI- I bought an 80G at XMAS (as a gift, unfortunately not for me) at BestBuy for $349 and immediately got a 40$ gift card. Not a bad deal at all.
  2. Jazz Dispute is pretty cool. Can't say I've ever seen anything like that before, however Babs Gonzales immediately came to mind as I watched the video. Weird. Bird & Diz could say a lot in two bars!
  3. Too many missed tackles. A lot of two yard runs turning into 10 yard runs. Also, no real pass rush.
  4. My bad.
  5. Funny, seems to me that Lowell Fulson wrote volumes about "bitches."
  6. Apparently this cycle was produced between 1993-2000.
  7. Is this a reasonable way to be exposed to this music for the first time? Are there better collections, or individual CDs that might be preferable? TIA
  8. I still show $5.99/disc as well. Just ordered these to see is it actually works.... Takács Quartet Beethoven: The Early String Quartets 1 $11.98 Takács Quartet Beethoven, Late Quartets 1 $17.97
  9. Not your typical surf music. The Mermen w/Prairie Prince on drums.
  10. If want to hear Kenny sing this is a better choice in my opinion. Still not essential though.
  11. B&W DM602 S3's are nice. On the the large side for bookshelves but still categorized as such ($600/pair).
  12. A lot of this going on in Chicago lately... Buddy Guy's Legends
  13. Homeland security.
  14. I little bit of heaven right here on earth- Goose Island Grape Soda.
  15. Not as electronic in nature as Headhunters but Marcus Belgrave's, Gemini is a very good album with some interesting horn arrangements, colored with touches of synthesizers, but mostly driven by electric piano. Well worth searching out if you are into the funky jazz.
  16. They have some interesting John Lee Hooker releases (complete & chronological) however they seem almost too good to be legit. Anyone familiar with this label?
  17. Ditto on the iTunes external hard drive configuration. Works like a charm.
  18. Anyone go to this? Kenny Burrell Birthday Celebration
  19. Probably already posted but... 10 Year old Billy Preston w/Nate King Cole
  20. Farmer/Golson Jazztet- Disc 1
  21. I received my Weather Report Box yesterday unfortunately the DVD was loose during transit and was scratched badly. I sent customer service an email requesting a replacement. Will see what happens. The few times over the last couple years I've had to contact customer service (e-mail) on matters; the service has been very timely and my expectations have been always been met. I always try to write a polite and sometimes funny email to help my request stand out from the myriads they deal with on a constant basis. This is not life and death here, it's just a friggin' CD/DVD. It seems to work. P.S. I was able to watch parts of this DVD. The video quality is a little grainy at times. The performance is wonderful. Jaco is amazing to watch. The music just flowed right through him!
  22. Somebody had to do it... festivus poles
  23. I really like the Antoine Dufour. He gets a seriously deep groove going with his bass line comping technique. I was thinking all the way through the performance, what will he do next? It was pretty exciting and fresh. Sure, there's a bit of showmanship thrown in for good measure but it in no way diminishes that great groove. Thanks for posting.
  24. I know there are number of Abercrombie fans a lot more qualified than me on this board. That said, these three cover a fair amount of ground stylistically and are all worth checking out. If I have to pick just one, I go with Timeless. Timeless Sargasso Sea Gateway Timeless- AOTW Discussion Edited to include link
