I picked up a bunch of David Murray and Harold Mabern titles on DIW during the Tower going out of business sale. Pretty good stuff, that is very well recorded.

I would agree. Have to rummage through the vinyl, and give this one a listen. It's been a long time, but remember it being quite good.

Possibly. I've been digging this one a bit lately. Too bad I had to miss the group at Birdland this week. Let's see those Abercrombie Qt's on ECM get a domestic (USA) CD reissue! I have an Abercrombie discography that will become a web page soon, he's been on tons of albums. I just have to give it a once over and double check some details. It's more up to date than the old one on his web site. Good news about the discography. Is it just me or does John look like a "Cheap Trick" reject in that picture?

Brian would have you believe that his ambient stuff can be listened to on many different levels. Personally, I've found that if you listen to the ambient material passively, it tends to be more effective (maybe that's just me though).

FYI- Make sure that your set doesn't contain a duplicate of one of the discs (I believe #2) and missing one all together (#3?). Even though they may be labeled correctly be sure to check them out right away. There have been issues with some sets including my copy. Thanks for that heads-up Tom. Wasn't blown away upon first listen and really wasn't expecting to be. I obviously need to give this one a few more spins. The synth guitar ain't working though- and this coming from someone who really likes Offramp.
