  1. What I think is funny is that the article is written in New York. It's about a California family. They buy the car in Park City, Utah. It's an expensive car. And it's discussed here. (internationally) (Didn't say how weathly the family is?)
  2. I assume RCA will put out the complete box set again - just when? Probably remastered again too. Maybe sold this time as a Box set. Course, I'd like to see the RCA Goodman complete and Artie Shaw complete on CD too. I'm trying to remember, was the Complete RCA Ellington ever released on LP in any series?
  3. I saw the film. Shaw was in the audience too and took questions. Does anyone know if it's available on DVD or VHS?
  4. Probably over 6. (more than I want to think about) Waiting for the right mood and enough time. Mildred Bailey is 10 discs. Sarah Vaughan is another big set. Don't know when I'll ever get to Nat King Cole. Bunny Berigan is another 7 discs. Almost in the mood for the Mulligan set. I'm still trying to get thru the pile of Chronogical CLASSICS I picked up last week. Also in the middle of watching the Duke Ellington DVD Live at Tivoli Gardens. Too much music.
  5. Yeah, buy as many as you'd like.
  6. Before the domestic issue came out, I was trying to buy the import (unsuccessfull) for over $20.

    Greatest Finds

Hey, if anybody's interested, I have an extra FIELDS on cassette. Just pass me the postage. (I have the CD too)
  8. Thanks jazzbo, I'll give the discs a spin.
  9. The vouchers came in the latest mailings with brochures and other junk mail.
  10. Does anyone know anything about; Billy Kyle 1939-1946 Lucky Millinder 1943-1947 Alix Combelle 1935-1940 Johnny Guarnieri 1944-1946 Skeets Tolbert 1931-1940 Spirits of Rhythm 1933-1945 Maxine Sullivan 1938-1941 I picked these up SEALED at the local store on sale. $8 Wondering if I should keep them? Tolbert looks like a clarinet guy, so I'm interested in him. Never really hear of the others.
  11. Yeah, my aunt passed away. She didn't spend her money, over 1 million in HP stock. Her house was so full of junk, that you could barely walk thru it. Mainly clothes and jewelry that she bought and never used. Lots of stuff still in the box. Even cash in misc evelops/letters. B)
  12. Sounds like a reasonable request by your wife. Have you heard of CD-burners?
  13. Sounds familiar. Gotten Bud Shank & Bob Cooper Select recently. Bunny Berigan Mosaic (still unopened)
  14. Welcome to the bullshit world of class action lawsuits, Chuck. The financial world gets hit with them all the time and all they do is drive up cost for the consumer, without providing any real restitution for victims. Man, if I could get my hands on a class action lawyer, I'd....and I'd.... and I'd.... you get the idea. (The bastards!) Is this a comment about John Edwards? (class action lawyers)
  15. My latest BMG brochure had box sets at discounted prices. Who was looking for THE COMPLETE ELLA FITZGERALD SONG BOOKS (16cd)? $88.98 (plus shipping charges & taxes) JOHN COLTRANE COMPLETE HEAVYWEIGHT ATLANTIC RECORDINGS (7CD) $44.98 SONNY ROLLINS: COMPLETE PRESTIGE (7CD) $40.98 FRANK SINATRA : COMPLETE REPRISE (20CD) $80.98
  16. I've gotten vouchers from BMG for the settlement. If you bought 1-5 at regular price - you get 1 CD at 75% w/ free shipping/handling. ($4.50) Bought 6-10 - you get 2 @ 75% off. Bought 11 or more - you get 3. I will only ask for 1, since I usually cancel after fullfilling my membership. B)
  17. I haven't gotten my check yet. But I received a voucher from BMG club for 75% off a single CD w/free shipping/handling. (that's $4.50) BMG voucher states that if you bought 1-5 regular priced CD - you get 1 at 75% off. Purchased 6-10 - you get 2 at 75% off. Purchased 11 or more - you get 3 at 75% off. BMG is depending on your honesty, I assume. I usually just purchase 1 at the regular price to fullfill my membership requirements, then cancel. So I guess I'll request 1 CD. (my wife also got a BMG voucher)
  18. I would suggest looking for the US CD version with extra tracks. You probably can buy it for about $18. Buy the Mosaic LP, if you're a hard-core Mosaic collector or LP collector. The LP goes on ebay every so often. It doesn't seem to draw that much attention on ebay.
  19. Guess all that marketing paid off. Curious to know how much Blue Note spent on promoting this album.
  20. I would agree with this, since trading with a regular seems better, than with a newbie.
  21. Headphones, separate listening room, closing the door, waiting till she leaves the house... I guess there are several ways to go about listening to jazz
  22. Another discount code: (does not include box sets) 60% off with free shipping/handling. (you still have to pay for taxes). B4ODS30 expires 2/21/04 (third character is not a zero, it's alpha 'O', last character of code is a zero) Spend, spend, spend
  23. Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson (Verve) mint CD for sale. $8.50 (in USA) postpaid. Terence jazzman001@excite.com paypal perferred
  24. Here's some Blue Note CDs, each $5.00 postpaid (in USA). None of these are the remastered RVG versions.
